@hochbob Thanks! HOMESTEAD TransFast Dye Powders. Tho it is water based, it didn't raise the grain very much. Your mileage will vary depending on the lumber, I think. When it was thoroughly dry, I hit it with polyurethane varnish. I felt like I had pretty good control with the dye, and was able to keep the end grain from getting too dark. Next time I will try alcohol base dye for comparison. Dye is a good alternative to pigment based stain.
Elegant. Which products did you use to create that popping finish? Oil or water based?
General? Arm r Seal? Enduro-Var?
