@aconroy8 You can, just remember though that when you go back to the original vehicle you'll need to rebind and probably reset your trims too.

Thanks but I I'm trying to put a keller bee failsafe and it won't let me because the light is on on the remot and the receiver so it won't let me set the killer bee with my Baja 5t

@hbthebajabasher Failsafe is set when you bind the receiver to the transmitter. So let's say you have a nitro truck. After you go through and have your steering and throttle trims set properly, your servo reversing is set, etc, go and re-bind your vehicle while holding full brake. What this does is if you happen to lose signal it will drive the throttle servo to the full-brake position, bringing you to a stop.

I'm 13 and need help with my MRX-3000 reciever. I recently upgraded to a Castle Creations Mamba Max 2200kv motor and ESC for a 1/8 vehicle and my transmitter and receiver suddenly have a dratically shortened signal. Im lucky to get about 5m befor the car looses all signal and rolls away. I have no income because Im not old enought to work and I love the reciever and transmiter alot. I tried Rebinding but with no luck. I tried putting in fresh battries, no luck.

1) Plug the bind plug into the receiver

2) Power up the receiver with the transmitter off

3) Once the receiver LED begins to flash rapidly power the transmitter on

4) Binding should be complete in 5-10 seconds.

You should not listen to him and NOT set your failsafe at full brake on an electric... if you lose signal with an ESC, you risk going into full reverse lol... That can be very dangerous with bigger models. Great for youtube vids though.

@latexink I guess the assumption is that you have reverse disabled and the ESC set for Forward-Brake only. You make a great point though, if you have reverse then setting to neutral would be a better choice.

@crazybearrc Simply hook everything up as you would normally and, before turning the ESC on or connecting the battery, plug the bind plug into the bind port. From here, turn on the ESC. The LED on the receiver should begin to flash. Once it's flashing put your radio into the bind mode and it should work without a problem.

ok, i got a dx3r a couple days ago. and i have a couple trucks but i want to run it with my mini revo. and the sr3100 has pretty small ports so i had to cut thru the plastic a little bit, to fit the mini revo connectors inside the sr3100. i have tried to bind it with the bind plug in and my RX traxxas 5c pack. Is the Rx pack good for this process? And if not what reciever battery is good? Is the another way to power your reciever like the esc?

@crazybearrc Couple things. First instead of cutting the receiver's case you should have removed the tab on the plug itself. That would have been the optimal solution. You can use a receiver pack to power the receiver during the binding process if you'd like otherwise just use the ESC.

electric cars should be set to neutral if you have reverse available on you model. if your model is forward-only (most typical in racing applications) then full brake is fine.

All of the radios you see there are DSM-only and will not work with crystals.

Yes, all Spektrum receivers include the bind plug if it requires one (The SR3000 and SR3001 use a bind button)

If you're using a DX3R (or one of the new SPM3140 DX3S' or sent yours in for upgrading) I would use an SR3520. If you don't have one of those radios then you can only use the SR3500.
