  • I would die for a sax like that

  • I have a 6M and it's better in every way than any Mark VI I've ever played. Will NEVER trade or sell it for a Selmer.

  • keep practicing and practicing and practicing and practicing

  • love the rendition of misty

  • SaxophoneProductions the serial number on my alto sax is N 60111.Made in Mexico.

  • sorry i havent replied. google "conn saxophone serial number" and you should have your answer

  • Nice playing, nice horn. Following on from comments re the shooting star, I have recently bought 1959 silver plated 14m, and I am so amazed with the tone. For the same money I would only be able to buy half a second hand student yamaha. It beats a student yamaha to bits for sound. The nostalgia counts for something as well.

  • You play great - but why, why, why would anyone want to sell a 6m is beyond me. When you buy one of these you get yourself hooked for life.

  • I have a Conn shooting star alto sax and it plays great! Is their anyway that I can tell how old or what year it was made and also what it is worth?

  • for year you have to check serial number. shooting stars are worth very little though because they are beginner saxes. for a shooting star alto they usually average $200-$400 selling price

  • Wow! Thanks for the info! My shooting star alto sax sounds incredible and I didn't have to pay alot of money for it either. What a deal!

  • Shooting stars are really underrated saxes. I hear all these stories about them being poor saxes and bad intonation and they are all false. I've played a few of them and they were all good. The Conn 6m above is basically better quality finished and much faster action. The shooting star is an excellent choice for a beginner . I think they are worth little because a lot were made. My king zepther sax is inferior to the shooting star even though its worth more.

  • Yeah, my primary alto is a YAS-82Z, But my back up is a 1970 Conn Shooting star, and I agree with 'conn6m'. The Shooting Star saxes are really underrated. Mine plays great!

  • What MPC were you using with the 6m ? Thanks !

  • HOW MUCH YOUR ALTOSAX?

  • what is the sax price ???

  • I'm dying to know if you've sold this sax...

  • ungladfully I do have to admit that I actually sold my beloved 6m VIII !!

Now I'll be able to judge if there's a life possible without it.

What's left is a feeling of emptyness!

As you can see- world economic crisis is hunting down saxophone-players, too.

  • Life will not be possible without it. Sorry but that is the truth. Your life from this moment on will be misery and longing. You will probably become the blues singer we all see on street corners crying out notes of lost love and regret whilst the greedy bankers look out there windows down on you. 'There lies the product of our labours' they say. 'A broken heart and empty life'.

  • I have a Conn 6M with silver plate and gold washed bell. It sounds fantastic, and blows away all those Mark VI's that everyone seems to pay too much for.

  • I know someone who buy frequently some conn, try them and sell them after, he would sell me one of those for 2500$ canadian, it's far away of the mark VI's at like 7000$ canadian

  • Pity. You'll regret it.

  • I have a '48, and the matching Tenor too boot!! I love them both, would never get rid of them. You are a fine player sir.

  • great sound! what mouthpiece set up do you use?

  • i have one too...and it's amazing!!!!

  • I have a 6m too 1947, I had it overhauled in France. They were so proud when I came back to get it they were showing it in the front window! DONT SELL IT! You are so lucky, guys offered me to trade selmers for mine , NO WAY! the warmth and texture of the sound from those lady faces is something you wont get from any other horns. And when I make it growl it can get meaner than any selmer too! I wish I could buy yours, but honestly, I prefer to tell you to keep it and cherish this jewel!

  • As I´m young- I need the money;) but right now I´m thinking it over and over...

  • I had a selmer "cigar cutter" an alto similar to the conn (two lower keys on the left). I lost it

since I put it in a pawnshop for 200$ then I broke a leg in middle of winter, went flat broke and could move to go get it. So much time I thaught "if I could rewind the tape ans cha nge the scenario, I would change the history and kept it" but life is a one-way ticket, and now I know when I got a chance of a lifetime! My own lady face has no more gold plate on it, it is all green from playin outside

  • But I would never let it go! Yours is mint and real beautiful, keep playing it and the reward will be worth a lot more than any money, the sound you 'll get will pay you back a hundred times! And will come a day I hope you thank me for tellin ya, go on and play it, if you need so much money, go out and play any corner open your case, mine is paid back a long ago!

  • wow, sounds great. Dunno why you'd wanna get rid of it!
