I understand that he really loves his kid and wanted to make sure he is okay, but at the same time he put Harry's life in danger leaving him their on his own. Their was no way of knowing how long it would have taken for back up to get their. Harry could have been killed if anyone had realized he was their.

My thoughts exactly, I thought he'd requested to be on desk duty because of the unpredictable hours with being undercover, stakeouts, etc. Poor Doug :(
Yeah last time he was supposed to be on desk duty but got assigned sort of as a favor with the disabled cop. Guess there short of guys but The captain should be more understanding.

wait everyone keeps saying i miss hanson of johnny wats going on sorry im kinda clueless cuz umm well i didt see season 4 or 3 or 5 yet i ve only seen some of 3 and 1 and 2 so im not sure wat happened or is he just no in this epeisode cmb please :)
Johnny hated the show when he was filming it, so he went to great lengths to avoid his involvement in the show. He mainly hated it when he was a teen idol, which was about 3-4 season. That's why you see either heavy or completely nonexistant Hanson episodes.
He officially disappears in the 5th season, where no explanation is given for why he is gone.
Penhall laters says that one of his friends owns a bowling alley, possibly hinting that Hanson quit being a cop to work there.
