  • This makes me wanna just sway back and forth slowly like a giant rock. I mean, VERY slowly.

  • Bill Frisell on guitar. incredible

  • What the fuck Youtube? I discovered this song back in 2009. I've searched for it several times since, along with many other songs from this album and returned with NOTHING. Now this song is back up and it looks like it was never gone... ¡¿WTF?!

  • Open a new tab and play "RainyMood" in another tab at the same time.

  • @PearlJamm Try listening to "Mammoth" by "Pelican"

  • oooo this is good. whats a good song thats there heavier stuff?

  • YOUTUBE SHOULD PUT A LOOP BUTTON SO WE COULD PLAY THAT SONG OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER

  • fuck... this music takes me to another world

  • I listened to this once while playing Fallout: New Vegas; kinda fits the mood

  • @ArmandKarlsen Listen to this shit in the summer when it is over 100 out and it's fucking amazing.

  • @Sokushunbutsu

    Yes :)

  • @Sokushunbutsu Celsius?

  • Doom Metal and a Spaghetti Western theme song. FUCK YES.

  • 6 People are britney spears! Mega LOL!!!111!!!!!!!

  • bad upload - should go on forever.

  • The soundtrack to our nearing demise.

  • Anybody giving Bill Frisell props for this? Seriously one of the most amazing solos I have ever heard.

  • @lyigantius Bill Frisell is amazing. Everything he does is amazing. I love his stuff. Especially his work with John Zorn.

  • @pnptcn I completely agree. This cd was a great combination of artists with similar styles. I'm used to hearing heavier things by Earth but this style is great. Love John Zorn and Bill Frisell Naked City which is also similar to Mike Patton's Fantomas. Pretty sure Naked City came before Fantomas though.

  • Drone sweet Drone.....

  • Mmmmmmmmmmmm -___-

  • Its like death country!........ Superb!

  • @iceonaboy makes more sense than calling it drone metal or drone doom for sure.

  • I fuckin love this stuff!

  • already bought the album. Now It would be awesome to see them live.

  • I like this music because it is interesting, yet it doesn't demand countless amounts of concentration with millions of note passing by. It is easy to pick up and put back down at anytime.

  • @loadyourhead you stole that from theneedledrop l0l

  • god. it is so hard to search for this band

  • @jambassfunk I consider myself lucky that I know about them :)

  • made me want a beer in a dark room

  • Perfect for a David Lynch film!

  • This is perfect listening for my exam revision.

  • Southern Lord always seems to sign the best.

  • the BarstooL SaintS - outlaw

  • First time hearing them.. very interesting and cool. What are they like live?

  • i sway on this, bro's. i move in motion of the anti-music.

  • you guys may also want to check out spacemen 3. The Perfect Prescription is a great album!

  • this era earth almost reminds me of brian eno

  • @MightyOdin There's not a whole lot of bands like Earth that i know of..you're probably best at looking up more atmospheric soundscape bands then Drone..but if you want to get into drone..as someone mentioned before Sunn O))) is about as drone-y as you can get. Bongripper is a good Doom/Droner metal band..Satan Worshipping Doom is a fantastic album (don't let any of the names turn you away..it's great music.) Pelican, Jesu, Red Sparowes, Explosions in the sky are worth checking if you like Earth

  • @ChrononautDoom there are many bands like earth, Elm, Barn Owl, Human Bell, to name a few. You just have to look.

grab The Conjuror by Barn Owl, its like HEX II

  • @naterd00d thanks for the suggestions!

  • Pure awesomeness!

  • i like these slow drums

  • i saw earth on shrooms. everything youve heard is true

  • @Floorthirteen wich kind of the them? from cow or tthree?

  • wheres the fucking wobble?

  • @narbranger LOl

  • Fucking trip out, nice stuff, Earth!

  • Earth is more western than a western film

  • Awesome!!!! Thx for posting.....

  • Hail Earth lol : P

  • What other good drone bands are there? I guess Om would be one. Would the Black Angels be another? : (

  • @MightyOdin I don't know much about drone, but I'd check out:

    Sunn O)))

Yes, the ")" are supposed to be there. : )

  • @MightyOdin red sparrows

  • Electric Wizard got it right. When stating in an interview in 2005 "kyuss blows and all those bands from europe that try to sound sourthern rock". There is no history of american southern anything over here!" Fuck that shit! Thank you Jus! I knew you had it right.

  • @killfroggy26

Kyuss is the original Desert Rock band. If you can't appreciate the utter groove that they exude then I pity you.

  • @LivesUnderABridge hmmmm, no, Across The River & YawningMan were before Kyuss

  • @killfroggy26 Funny because Electric Wizard haven't released a decent album since 'Come, My Fanatics...'

  • @killfroggy26

I ve chatted to some US people a good bit on this virtual viral world!! Some think that Desert Rock and Southern rock is uniquely US!! (Possibly the ineptitude and I love my country pride eating away at them) Some are just up their own arses!!

OPEM THINE EYES!! There is a massive organic underground movement of fuzz, desert, kraut, stoner whatever u wanna call it!!

From Sweden to Ger to Uk and beyond to Aus and NZ!!

Let your ears lead and not your eyes!!!

    Desert Rock Ireland :)

  • @dookie2kie Very understood. Speaking of "Dersert Rock" etc.... I've never like the continueous labels of this style. I've always known it to be "stoner rock" regardless of pro or anti substance use. I am quite bias to"US only" when the word "southern rock" comes to mind. Thankyou again for your point. (although still very anti- Kyuss). I stay with the E.W. camp.

  • @killfroggy26

Most respectfully to US citizens, only "some" have the attitude I described in the passionate response below!! Many are far out dudes with great senses of music. :)

I like anything thats downtuned and fuzzed out never mind the connection to mind altering substances. I dont like labelling but it is necessary as a description! Kyuss has had a large influence on many European bands for sure but I think THEY have taken it further!! Truckfighters and many more make me smile!! :)) Bye

  • its as tho hundreds of stories of nature are being told in the span of every note played on that geeter

  • Kyuss Blows!

  • @killfroggy26

    Are you Friggin retarded?

  • OK can anyone tell me but i think this is kurt cobains best freind? it sounds like its from the Kurt and Courtney movie?

  • @skylar032708 Yes, this is the Earth that is fronted by Dylan Carlsen, a close friend of Kurt Cobain. Dylan and Kurt hung out in Seattle and Kurt even makes a guest appearance on the first Earth record (Extra-Capsular Action). I don't know if I agree with the movie's label of "best friend," but they were quite close.

  • ES TAN DEPRESIVA me encantooooooooo

  • awesome music

  • I love that cover art.

  • Great music.

  • im welded to the fucking ground

  • im draggin balls

  • Anyone have a .torrent for these guys?

  • I found one in a shop that sold CD's. it was square, and plastic, with another little plastic circle in it.

  • @MalumObscurum XD

    this actually made me laugh.

Do you like your plastic circle of Earth?

  • @BlackeytheKing try

    topinweb.com

  • Man, Frisell's improvisation comes from somewhere else. It's like the music of the spheres or something.

  • i like it its not the "evil" drone doom that most bands play...

  • This is tits man!

  • any fans of Sunn O))), of so HI 5

  • Beautiful.

  • Usually eveything that slows downs too much bore me as all but... I must admit that this is just awesome.

  • its the first time i hear this - couldn't have asked for anyting better.

  • @manlypedro75

copy that. it's like a step down from yawning man... in a good way

  • this is some deep stuff.

  • @vlad4706 that it is.... that it is....

  • nicewarmhappyheroin

  • Man this is undoubtedly some of their best shit.

  • This may not be a very complex song but my god, that tone.

  • Probably my favorite song off Bees...

Earth's use of tension/release is something more bands should use.

  • Not as much as you.

  • Guys give it a rest and just listen to the song!!

  • The album cover looks like it says "Garth," but I don't hear any country music.

  • That's what you think of when you see Garth???

    Garth Algar > Garth Brooks

  • Comment removed

  • "Garth" is the second-most metal name of all, yielding only to "Wayne"...

  • Wayne Garthson?

OH GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE

  • earth was what blacksabbath was called before they were called blacksabbath

  • Thanks, none of us knew that.

  • Sarcasm w00t

  • @shamethemus are you retarded? Like in the head?

  • oh so im sure one genre say blues.. had no effect on .. lets say modern rock?

  • Awesome tone

  • ah yes, the minor pentatonic scale

  • 6 minutes and 28 seconds of pure joy......

  • no offense... and im not trying to say pink floyd is drone metal or are the pioneers of drone metal but... youd have to be one ignorant bastard, if you couldnt see the influence pink floyd has left on earth... there are so many floyd songs that you can name that share the same feeling and powerful drone vibe, and theyve been doing it since 1965... earth started in 1990, doesnt seem like light years ahead to me... respect where due.

  • careful with that axe eugene is one of those songs

  • That note, around 5:53. Gets me everytime.

  • They are the pioneers of drone metal... lightyears ahead of pink floyd

  • That statemant makes no sense on many different levels. Perhaps you are trying to be funny?

  • It is related to the Pink Floyd comments below. All I tried to say is that you can't compare... mind your own bussiness next time

  • Well then post it to the reply button below. Also, fuck you. This is a public forum, if everyone minded their own business then no one would post. And your statement still makes no sense, since Pink Floyd are not a drone metal band and therefore it is impossible to compare the two. Unless you are tone deaf.

  • no use talking to a retard...

  • they are influenced by the Floyd though it's stated in an interveiw

  • Listening to this song after some bong rips is one of the most excellent things you can do in your spare time.

  • Ah i love this..

  • Comment removed

  • Pink Floyd used to write great tracks similar to this.

Echo's for a start. Floyd do this kind of shit better than everybody else, and thats no cuss on Earth, I love them too.

But ask Pink Floyd to play this, and they could. Ask Earth to play a Pink Floyd number and they'd probably struggle.

    respect where due.

  • depends of the song cuz the bass part for careful with that axe eugene is pretty easy

  • In Kyuss we trust!! In Earth we must!!

This music aint religious, its a trippy, spiritual journey when you close your eyes you feel like your transported to a parallel dimension.

It speaks volumes and different meanings to different fans, thats why its so malleable and ever changing in its repetitive slow and mesmerizing nature.

i love it to bits and it is great for getting some work done, its just so damn enthralling like a good novel, it draws you in for the sheer epic grooves it goes on!

  • that was good.

    IN KYUSS WE TRUST!

  • Amen

  • It's organic, is what it is. Natural & pure. So was Kyuss.

  • @dookie2kie Were you stoned when you wrote that?

  • @dookie2kie wonderfully said sir

  • @dookie2kie on earth we live

  • What is challenging about this album is trying to listen to it all the way through, only having to cut it short via some errand. And when you restart it, you feel like going start to finish again. In that way, it's near impossible to get well-acquainted with the later tracks. The only tragedy of this album :)

  • this is music I would play while driving through the desert in a convertible when the sun is going down. you see it too.

  • it reminds me a bit of the intro to coat of arms by ramesses, another awesome doom/drone metal band, sunn o)))- with xasthur is amazing to listen to when off your face. its perfect, should be classed as stoner metal

  • right this i get. a bit of western, a bit of drone. i don't get Sunn O))) though? besides the occult appeal, what is it?

  • Something about the way they manipulate bass frequencies makes every time one lsitens to Sunn O))) an altogether different experience from the last time.

I don't think Sunn O))) wrote their music for sober people. Get high as fuck and listen to it. Lie on the floor next to the speakers. If you don't get it then... You never will.

  • I enjoy Sunn O))) a helluva lot, even when sober. I don't think it's a high/sober thing. You get Drone, or you don't. That's all it falls down to, in my eyes.

  • Same here, but my eyes were truly opened when I did what I mentioned above. I listen to Sunn O))) frequently, but there's just SOMETHING about them when I'm high that surpasses all human thought and perception.

  • I'm not sure i get Sunn 0))) either, but I enjoy listening to them all the same. I enjoy them because there doesn't seem to be any structure. I prefer them to this, because of that. PLus they're slower.

  • it's a tribute to earth what's there to get

  • I love it

  • is this dylan carlson's band?

  • hey brianpastor... remember that time that christ died for our sins?

    cause i don't.

  • Greetings dear "warwick487" -

The lack of memory is the effect of being mesmerized under the appearance of ignorance.

One may cry-out to the depth of one's Being, that Truth be known:

    GOD IS...THAT THOU ART.

    Liberty in Christ

  • mr. pastor, i guess my old post was offensive enough to get deleted. i'm proud of that. i didn't even particularly believe it, i'm not really that passionate in my religious opinions. that said, if you're trying to identify with people, don't do it by talking shit about bands. their fans won't appreciate it, and they'll say offensive things about religion.

    wise up, sir.

  • Hello neighbor Warwick487 -

You may rest assured that whatever may have been stated by me had integrity behind it.

If there are those who wield offensive things, it is merely manifestation of confusion/chaos within one/them.

    Sincerely yours in Truth, Brian

  • BrianPastor,

I believe in Jesus, but I don't think that this song in any way should be considered in the way you put it. I like it because it has that slow, bluesy vibe to it. There's a time and place for preaching, and here is not the place for that. I'm not trying to undermine you in anyway. I'm sorry if you've taken some kind of offense to this, but like I said, here is not the place to be preaching.

  • Greetings Masterslosey -

Yes, Earth has some very interesting material...quite enjoyable.

Truth is to be revealed unto all nations...including that of Earth.

Those who shake and wine in their shoes are manifesting direct evidence of need to shed ignorance.

    Sincerely yours in Truth, Brian

  • Earth is a band which songs seem to have been made about you.

  • What a great album cover.

  • This is indeed cinematic. Earth has the amazing ability to conjure images into one's mind, there's absolutely no need for lyrics when you can just close your eyes and skip town. 5 stars.

  • this sounds so cinematic, like, it belongs in a title sequence of a zombie western or something.

  • Ha you summed that song up exactly!

  • Goddamn it, LoltheCorey, now I can't get rid of the mental image of two zombies shooting the crap out of each other.

  • ^^meaning of life

  • It's basically like ambient music.

  • pinks floyd's better 4 that, and with lyrics usually, goodbye blue sky is a good pink floyd song to look up

  • pink floyd is better at making ambient/drone than earth???

shut up, you make no sense

  • Pink Floyd is overrated.

  • If Pink Floyd is overrated I wonder wich catagory Earth, and all extreme drone together for a fact, fall into ????

  • Why not just listen to Pink Floyd then?

  • That doesn't make any sense dude.

  • What great cover art..!And what a supiror song.:) Peace

  • hell yeah! arik roper!

  • haunting

  • This is otherworldly.

  • I love the cover of this album and I LOVE drone. Never heard Earth before...but I dig Sunn O))) a lot.

  • Chills, I don't need weed if I have Drone music!

  • I was going to call this 'Stoner Blues' and it IS a work of art: transition from this to LaMonte Young's Dorian Blues seamlessly in a mix! But wikipedia reckons this as 'experimental rock'. The band is officially Drone/Doom Metal; so many moments of Art are found in connection to metal that when I hear the music snobs at Academia I want to puke!!! Thanks MonolithicEmissions!! :-)

  • This is amazing. It's epic and it instills a feeling of uplift and you just feel better when you listen to this. Earth has done it again. Excellent song and album.

  • I love Earth too much ^^

  • This album is so incredible.

  • Man this music is really weird and dismal. can someone explain what is going on and why are all these comments so prophetic.

  • Try to listen more carefully at this, instead keepin' Manowar shit in your stereo

  • Kinda reminds me of a heavier Ennio Morricone.

  • i hear all the time that they invented drone doom metal.....but all the songs i've heard are like this, clean and epic....wich is awesome too, and sounds incredible! could anyone recommend me any heavier songs by them so I get to know the "legend"?
