Love John Zorn and Bill Frisell Naked City which is also similar to Mike Patton's Fantomas. Pretty sure Naked City came before Fantomas though.

@MightyOdin There's not a whole lot of bands like Earth that i know of..you're probably best at looking up more atmospheric soundscape bands then Drone..but if you want to get into drone..as someone mentioned before Sunn O))) is about as drone-y as you can get. Bongripper is a good Doom/Droner metal band..Satan Worshipping Doom is a fantastic album (don't let any of the names turn you away..it's great music.) Pelican, Jesu, Red Sparowes, Explosions in the sky are worth checking if you like Earth

Dylan and Kurt hung out in Seattle and Kurt even makes a guest appearance on the first Earth record (Extra-Capsular Action). It speaks volumes and different meanings to different fans, thats why its so malleable and ever changing in its repetitive slow and mesmerizing nature.

i love it to bits and it is great for getting some work done, its just so damn enthralling like a good novel, it draws you in for the sheer epic grooves it goes on!

What is challenging about this album is trying to listen to it all the way through, only having to cut it short via some errand. And when you restart it, you feel like going start to finish again. In that way, it's near impossible to get well-acquainted with the later tracks. The only tragedy of this album :)
