This game is so damn unoriginal. Ironic for a game with "Origins" in the title maybe, but there's nothing in this game that we haven't seen before in other Silent Hill games. The Butcher is the most shameless thing I've ever seen. Hmmm... A tall, muscular humanoid creature who wears a large mask/helmet, a butcher's robe, and carries around an extraordinarily huge blade.  Where have I seen this before...? Origins is a perfect example of why only Team Silent should make Silent Hill games.

its kinda hard to explain but u now how the psp only has one analog stick and thefefore u cant change the camera angle. Wen it got transfered to the ps2 u think that they would put an ajustable camera but they didnt do that. And plus, the graphics arent good on ps2 because They are pretty much identical to the psp graphics which arent that good to start with.But its still a good game so i dont wanna discourage you. PEACE.

It's easy, jam the sharp end in first, and then the rest of the knife slides through like butter. If you watch kinda closely, he doesn't just jam it in there, he angles it. The Butcher wasn't trying to stab the nurse with the flat part of it.

And btw, the Butcher isn't supposed to be Pyramid Head, he's just a psycho with a giant knife and a mask. Pyramid Head came AFTER this guy, so he would be the cheap wannabe [remember, this takes place BEFORE Silent Hill 1]

I have never played any other Silent Hill game =(, but from the videos on youtube, it seems as though the Butcher is taller though. And a bit more muscular. But maybe in a later game, it will reveal that PH is Butcher's son or something like that, because PH likes to rape & kill people, maybe his father did as well, and thats where PH came from? that WOULD make sense, because I dont believe the series tells you the length between each game.

Pyramid Head was a representation of the sins of James, a way the town of Silent Hill has to punish him and make him realize he killed Mary. At the end of the game you see two PHs since he also killed Eddie before arriving at the hotel. The Butcher could be seen as a representation of Travis, seeing as the game hints that he's a serial killer with a split personality problem. The Butcher would be his darker half, and that's even more obvious if you look at his helmet. It's only a half.

There were actually 2 PHs to begin with. The second couldn't have been brought about by killing Eddie, since James didn't deny doing the act. Further proof is that in the apartment buildings, you see a red PH behind the grates, a brown one raping menniquins, then that same one trys to kill you, and DOES kill Maria. Then at the end you face both at the same time, win, and get 2 eggs of the same color as the PH holding it. Those colors were red and brown, or scarlet and rusted as the game says.
