Most of the pollution from the Syncrude plant comes about maybe twice a month. When there's a process upset; they have to open the dirverter valve from the CO waste heat boiler. If they don't do this, the thing could explode... Usually within a half hour, things get back to normal. the rest of what they SELL you as pollution is nothing more than water vapour going to atmosphere at -30 deg.
