  • the Yud Mem ending is also used to express a singularity, such as the word "ba'alim" = the owner, and not "the owners" Furthermore, in the hebrew language the plural is used as way to honor someone. When speaking to a great man, and this may be in other languages too, for centuries Jews have used the Hebrew, "atem" you plural, instead of "ata" you singular. The plural is simply a sign of honor for ONE subject.
