Lovely piece played beautifully. You have the heading "Sherman's March to the Sea". Is this something the Union Soldiers would have played during the Civil War? I am planning to play your piece for my students.
Thanks for your comment. I don't know if this was played specifically as a Union tune, or if the name was attached to it sometime after the war. It's also known in the oldtime tradition as 'Bonaparte Crossing the Rhine' and it closely resembles a traditional celtic tune called 'Caledonia'. My guess is that it was probably 'adopted' as it's such a catchy, upbeat melody. What do you teach?
Your English is 100% better than my Danish! Try searching for 'Bonaparte Crossing the Rhine' (this is its more common name).
By the way, I saw Harald Haugaard playing at Cambridge Festival earlier this year. He was excellent - I never knew Denmark had such a rich musical tradition.
I love American folk music.

The Celtic influence is very strong. I like it.
You have quite a talent for playing, yourself.
