I really like these Twins, somehow... They may seems like sick and twisted kids that kills, of cos it due to their terrible past. Just try living such and past, It is really a past that can make anyone go insane or even feel like dying, But at least they had the courage to live on. Hansel and Gretel, U two rock :)

But still, when i saw both of them die, i really almost cried for them :(

They kinda don't deserve this..But now they can rest in peace together =)

This was definitely my favorite arc of BL. Those kids were some of the greatest characters ever thought of in Anime. Psychotic, vampiric, even incestuous; it really gives one a perspective of the deepest levels of Hell, and I'd love to experience that firsthand. Erm. Minus the incest part.

This ending seems to say to me that they really were sacrificial lambs that were fouled to the point of moral psychosis as a survival mechanism through forced exposure to extreme violence. Their death then was a release from that hell, and they return to a pure state as by the innocence exhibited in this scene. At least that's how I read it....

Pretty song harmonically, although totally digitally engineered. There is no way a female could sing that bass line...

I hated the twins for being some lame-ass cliché UNTIL episode 15. The deaths of them made them really good characters actually.

After some thinking I had to conclude they were most likely both girls.

First of all, notice their anatomy in the last pictures here.

Next, their footprints. Men and women usually don't walk the same.

Why Hansel & Gretel? Probably part of the fetish drama they were involved with.

Also notice that neither of them refer to each other as Hansel & Gretel, only when others discuss them by any other name than "those sick kids".

Thanks for posting this. Something made me remember this episode today, and I had to find this ending.

I still remember being in shock at the end the first time I watched it. However, I managed to JUST keep my composure overall.

That is, until the ending credits. When I heard "The World of Midnight" and saw the two children standing hand in hand looking out at the sea, I'm not ashamed to admit I bawled like a baby.

In the anime the twins didn't show up till the 2nd season where as Roberta came and went in the middle of the 1st season. The Manga has lead me to believe that the twins are both girls and that they're just so messed up that somewhere back down the road they crated a brother....Yeah its kinda hard to explian its just that crazy

Actually, I've never heard of that, only confusion as to which one died first and which was on the boat with Rock and Co, dying second. I was fairly sure that one is a boy, one a girl, but they switch "personalities" at will; sometimes one will be "Hansel," the other "Gretel," and other times the order will be reversed. Psychologically, the gender of the twins is interchangeable, but physically I'm pretty sure one's a boy and one's a girl.
