@PeekMePlay this is a long range AA system based on a quite old but still deadly technology, and that would be the rocket size. Google the S-300 or S-400 Air def. systems.... Patriot rockets are outdated 3x by S-400, so they are a more effective system

PS: the rockets in this vido are fake, you can tell that by the rear end of the rocket. besides no one would want to use real rocket just to toss em around on a military celebration opened for civilians :P

Okay, let me explain why old missles, like Krug, was so big: reason of than what electronics in 60ies, when Krug were developed, was very imperfect and take too much place. So missle accuracy was relatively low. To improve effectivity of missles they have many explosives and shrapnel elements. Literally this mean it could chop to little pieces every thing in 200-300 meters radius near explosion.

Anyway, it passes the common sense test : bigger missile = bigger engine. Unless it's liquid-fueled, i don't see how a smaller weapon could have much more power.

These were from an earlier era, when aircraft flew high and missiles had to be big to have the range to reach them, plus were not as accurate as today so needed big warheads to insure a kill from a nearmiss. Wasn't it one of these that brought down Powers in his U2 spy plane. US missiles of the era were just as big, see Bomarc, Nike etc.
