You make your own "luck" in bowling. Yeah, the ball came up a little light on the head pin, but if you throw a good ball, you get good pin action, and you get strikes when other bowlers might leave a 10 pin (or in the case of a lefty like myself, a 7 pin :/ )

That's a legal strike. As long as the pin falls on its own and not knocked down by the pin setter, it's legal.

It has to be a minimum of 3 seconds

i hate it when that happens and when the pin setters come down to pick the pin up it gets stuck and jams it. that was lucky :)
