  • These are doilies for my boobies!

  • thx for this video...plz do one with a bikini bottom...thx

  • thx for your clearly instruction video

  • Please!! I love the top, but I'm really struggling with putting together a bottom. A tutorial for the bottom part would be sooooo appreciated. You are a really good teacher, I enjoy your tutorials. Thank you for putting so much time into this for us. You're loved. :-)

  • I want to make it but I want the bottom part too, teach us please :-)

  • The only thing that I'm wondering is if its too see through to wear only this? Its so cute!!!

  • I Love you!!!! the explicetion is totaly great!!! so awesome!!, I never thing in my life learn to make a bikini top, but i find you!!!! yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaahhhhhh!!!. I'm from Venezuela. sorry for my inglish, is not very good.

  • Hi, I did it!!!! But I used a wrong thread. Could you tell me, what kind of thread you used? Thanks!

  • @1Josecita I used 4 ply acrylic yarn

  • TERESA YOU ARE MY HERO! I've been looking for this everywhere!! Thank you for posting this!

  • @GabyEscol You are welcome. :)

  • This is great, thank You!

Can You show how to make a bottom to this top?

    Thank You Kindly! Alex

  • I followed all these directions and I ended up with a circle, not a triangle. =/

  • @ZombieGorePrincess That would mean that the increase stitched were missed on all three increase points.

  • @ZombieGorePrincess. You need to join each row with a slip stitch, "finish" it. Check if you did, because the first time I tried this pattern, I forgot to join and that resulted in me getting a circle just like you. I hope this helps!. Oh, and the yarn marker does help, try it!

  • Respond to this video... Teresa this is a great tutorial as usual!! thank you!

  • @cutecati9 I appreciate your kind words, thank you!

  • do you know of any pattern to crochet shorts?

  • Great tutorial :) what material did you use for the white bikini top in your video? :) thank you!!

  • Thank you so very much! I learn so much from your videos! I even used your videos to each my 8 year old daughter to crochet!

  • Excellent--thanks so much. I tried this from another pattern but my triangles came out too pointy...I shall never give up. On another note, where did you get that INCREDIBLY NIFTY GREEN THING on your hook? Is that just one of those pencil things that make it easier on your fingers? Please let me know what it is called and where I can get one -- thanks for sharing

  • @dalsch The green thing is a pencil grip. I purchased mind from Walmart and they are called gel grips. While the gel grips are my favorite, there are other pencil grips that will work.

  • I made this using thin t-shirt yarn. It came out awesome & its so comfy!

  • @electrastarr75 That is a great suggeston.

  • it would be nice olso to see the panties....

  • heloo teresa, you think you can do olso the down part of the bikini?

    please !

  • Miss Teresa, I have crocheted this piece. Thank you so so much, can you do the bathsuit bottom also, continue to do what you're doing. It does help us that cannot read the books.

  • Thanks Teresa, this video is excellent. I'll try doing it for my daughters. Is there a tutorial for the bottom part? What yarn should I use if there is a skin condition like dermatitis? Thanks again for all your teaching and support. You have made a crochet revolution in our modern society and I'm glad of being part of it. ;^)

  • Thanks!

  • What would I need to change if I were to use baby yarn?

  • @ajfpwn You can follow the same pattern but you will need to continue making it larger. As long as you are doing your increases, it should work the same as using larger yarn. Your crochet hook should be smaller or the stitches may appear to loose and sloppy looking.

  • I've been wanting to do something like this for a while. Thank you. Great video. I can't wait to try this I'm so excited!

  • @Ilovebeingamomsomuch You are welcome!

  • Excellent Posting, I will try it, today, and will let you know it gave me so many Ideas.. Thank you!!

  • hey theresa do you have any video on how to make bikini bottom?

  • Wow, this looks so hard to make! But you make it look so easy... I wish I could crochet! :D

  • great

  • I made a dress i was trying to send you a picture. im sooo proud of it

  • @jimpep5 You can post a video response or share images on my Facebook crochet page. You will find the link on my channel page here on YouTube

  • Theresa, any videos on how to make the bikini bottom?

  • Just in time for the summer. I have enjoyed many your of your turtorials and uber thanks.

  • @kduran1587 You are welcome!

  • would this be heavy when its wet???

  • @Phaythful You can read through the comments and find good results from the people who have gone swimming with a crochet bikini top.

  • @tjw1963 thanks. i will do that. >_<

  • Could do a video about the bottom too?

  • and also would it be better to wear this with some kind of lining underneath?

  • @NastyLolly You can work in a lining if you would like.

  • what kind of yarn is best if i were to wear it in the water?

  • with this video Teresa they have it under the name of Paparazzi pron videos just make you aware of this i was a little shocked i thought i better tell you

  • @ilovstodance I'm sorry but I do not know what you are talking about. Please message me privately. Thank you.

  • how do you crochet the lower part?? I really need to learn that, please help me. I have an idea but I don't know if it'll turn out find.

  • when i crocheted the top, it turns out concave instead of flat, like what you did in the video, and mine seems to be in the shape of a circle instead of a triangle. am i doing it wrong??

  • @canicechow You may be missing the increase stitches in each corner.

  • lol, i'm honestly curious if anyone would actually wear a crocheted bikini.

  • @lalalablair There are a lot of people that do wear them. Many have had good results swimming in the water.

  • @tjw1963 I'd wear it as a bra

  • Brilliant! I had a mommy ask me the other day if I could make a swim suit for her daughter (who will be three soon)...I'm so glad you posted this. I had an idea of how to start, but this really helped me out. Now to just find a pattern for the bottom...?

  • what do you mean by increasing 2 stiches on each side? only 2 ? i dont understand

  • @daisykatz2004 I hope I understand your question correctly. If not, don't mind me! :) It's only two because if you weren't increasing at all you'd do just one stitch in it. So one for the "normal" stitch, plus two to increase, equals three in total. Does that make sense? I hope it does, it's hard to explain in type! lol

  • i'm curious if this can be done with knitting instead of crochet...i'm not too great at crochet yet but i love that dress idea with this at the top. i'm thinking maybe if i just decrease every row starting from the bottom i can make something like this?

  • how do you do the bottom?? :)

  • @missladytenaj26 I have not done a bottom.

  • @tjw1963 hello! can you make a bottom too? thanks alot

  • Im happy Im not the only one who did this! I was extremely bored in a chorus meeting and had a ball of yarn in my bag, so I decided to make a bikini top! I did circles rather than triangles tough

  • @SierraSYNYSTER6661 There is a gal on my Facebook page who attached fabric to the bottom and made a dress. It turned out really pretty.

  • thank you

  • جزاكى الله خيرا

  • This is an absolutely fabulous art form. It is a very relaxing hobby that has such beautiful out comes

  • WOW this is so cool! Did you make this pattern up? or did you find it?

  • @Nayrobolous I write everything myself and then post the written instructions on my crochet blog.

  • i love the video, but is there away u can put a video up for the bottom bikini part, and written instructions to it? that will be great if u can.

  • Thanks for this tutorial. I just came up with a bikini top using a flower motif in the center (like one of those pasties) and use this as the rest of the top. I know it's hard to picture but maybe I'll have a video of it soon. Take care.

  • I admire you so much....thank you alot ! By the way, i would like to learn how to crochet a short skirt for winter. Hope that you will teach it one day ^_^...

  • do you have a pattern for the bikini bottoms yet?

  • thanks alot xD but how can i make the bottom ???

  • You are great teacher. Thank you so much for this video even though I am not really making this. Still appreciate your dedication so much!!!!

  • I made this and it was great! Thanks a lot?

  • @jtecs1972 You are welcome.

  • omg

  • So cool! :D I want that bikini top ^^

  • Wait, I don't get it, how do you give it shape of triangle?

  • @ogabychita You are working three single crochet in the same stitch in three places on each round. This is how it gets the triangle shape.

  • Do u know how to make the bottom??? Thanks!

  • hey T if i may good morning .. you know you should have your masters in crocheting by now (smile) but you know my vid of the summer spring bikini top but in continuel rounds i did because it was so hard for me to get the triangle concept ya know sometimes in learning its all how you preceieve it anyway imma give it a shot again ! ttyl

  • @stringsofserenyti Thank you. Please share your finished work on my Facebook page if you would like to.

  • CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO FOR BIKINI BOTTOM PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • ok so you showed us how to make the top, but what about the bottom??? i would love to know. so please put a tutorial on how to make a bottom for the bikini. =) thanks a bunch.

  • i love this. id love if u did a tuorial with a one piece w/ a decorative middle

  • hi theresa, thanks for sharing! is there anyway that u can post how to crochet bikini buttoms plz? thanks.

  • GAH! The sound that yarn makes it dreadful

  • I just wanted to make sure i'm doing this right. From round 3 on, (on the written too) are you counting the stitch where you join one round of crochet one crochet? and are you add another 1sc in that same chain space? forsome reason its not adding up for me.

  • @BellaIntelectual Last summer someone used this pattern and then added a full length to the bottom to make a dress. She posted it on my FaceBook page.

  • could you please do a vest?! crocheted with a racer back?

  • i love how you made this! u r so creative! do u think u would have an idea as to how to make the triangles and the other half of the bikini? thx

  • Hey there fellow string peeps I've been crocheting and wearing crocheted swimwear for twenty years at my own risk and all my non waterproof yarns have held up just fine in both salt and chlorinated water for a minimum of 3 years wear...Go Figure. Seriously though kids I used all double mercerised yarns for durability and only suffered some fading with the really bright colours after much use.

  • @diamondsapostle Thank you for sharing your experience with crochet and water.

  • awsome!!!!!!!!!

    Great tutorial!!!!!!!!

  • Do you have an idea of how I could make the matching bottom? Thanks

  • I have question about going swimming in a croxheted bikini top. How would you use it to go swimming if it isn't water proof?

  • It is wear at your own risk as most clothing is.

  • try lining it with bathing suit material! thats what im planing to do!

  • @rosiered35: There are surprisingly a lot of swimsuits that get ruined when wet. Some girls buy swimsuits just to look sexy while sunbathing, lounging around the beach, or modeling for pageants. I guess a crochet bikini would be for that or winter lingerie maybe? lol

  • @rosiered35 Its no different from swimming in anything else. You want to use materials that don't stretch out of shape though. I lived in my cotton crocheted bikini when I was 17! Rinse when done, let air dry - you're good to go!

  • nice! maybe u could show a video on how to crochet a simple ladies dress especially for a beginner like me...i will appreciate it so much!

  • Yay! I'm so glad I found your video! I've been trying to figure out how to do a bikini top. Would you by any chance know how to do a bikini bottom? Thanks again for the video!

  • That's really cute. Wish I was thin enough to wear one. An excellent tutorial.

  • Thank you.

  • is it a bad thing if my cups come out circular.

  • That means that you did not make the increase points. It is bad if you wanted a triangle.

  • Thanks for this vid. I've been looking for a bra/bikini and haven't found one. But can you use this also as a supportive bra to go out??

  • You are welcome. I did not follow any official bra standards when I created this pattern. I have had some people write that they have worn this to go swimming. Someone else attached a dress to the bottom of the bikini top and made a dress. She posted a picture on my facebook page.

  • @tjw1963 Yeah but I don't want to use it as a bikini thts not my interest, just a bra to wear! Thanks!

  • how do you do the bikini bottom?

  • very cute! I follow ur videos for every new thing u make... Thanks a lot for sharing!

  • very very very nice ! u talking about sassy yet classy .. i have my coaster bikini tops but i have to work on the position of my camera.. i also finally got around ta doing my sons beanie without it looking gurly! thanks for all your sharing u are my cro- cro- mentor!! blesssings !

  • I appreciate the comment, thank you.

  • i'm trying to be creative I've made a top small enough for a toddler but i thought i'd add salomons knot to the bottom so it can be a toddlers top for spring, the back will be open but the front will have the solomons knot i hope it turns out great i will get pictures so you can see when its done

  • Sounds like it will be cute. You are welcome to share pictures on my FaceBook Page.

  • is it really possible to use a crocheted bikini top?? i mean wouldnt it like stretch apart in the water?

  • A lot of people have made it and used it with the intentions of going in the water.

  • Thanks can't wait to start!!!

  • How would i go about making this if i made it using continual rounds? Instead of the way you make it int he video. I keep trying to make it that way and it comes out wrong so i want to try to do it in continual rounds.

  • It will be done the same way except for the first stitch where you join, you crochet in the top of the stitch instead. That gets you started with the continual round. I used a yarn marker with the joined rounds so I could see my first stitch and not crochet right over it. You will want to use a yarn marker so you know where your first stitch is and when you are moving on to the next round. This is to keep your count correct so you do not end up with a lopsided triangle.

  • You have been reading my mind. I was looking for a new idea for a bikini top and this is very cute. I am envisioning a different edging but very cute. Thanks for the video! :-)

  • I appreciate the comment. The great thing with crochet is being able to adapt a variety of techniques. Happy crocheting.

  • hi did you ever think of making a bottom

  • In this video tutorial did u crochet in a continual round or individual round?

  • I did rounds.

  • continual or individual rounds??

  • The video tutorial is joined rounds.

  • could you try making a bottom too?

  • This video is great! It got me thinking though...would you be willing to do a tank top (or "tankini") with this sort of bust? That would be great for us girls who are a little bashful about how we look in a bikini and would like to cover up just a bit more. =D

  • That has crossed my mind when I was making it.

  • are you going to make a bottom?

  • amazing!

  • Will you be posting written instructions for the top? Thank you for the new video! Very nice!

  • Yes I will. I am currently working on the blogpost.

  • I can't wear one at my age and weight (LOL), but I might make one for someone else. Thank you!

  • I can't wear it either. Outside of the house anyway. I said that to my husband and he was telling me that no one was going to pay attention to what I was wearing at the beach. The last time I wore a bikini, I was 17. It makes me wonder if he had a motive, which would be related to some of the pictures I have taken of him.

  • awesome!

    <3 M.

  • thank you so very much teresa thats amazingly beautiful and the good news are we can have multi colors of bikini top adorn with beautiful flowers, thank you...you are my inspiration.......

  • wooo amazing i wait for this long time :) thank you

  • BTW, you're just too awesome for words.

  • Thank you. :)

  • This looks like acrylic yarn ( I could be wrong). Would one be able to swim in it if it were made from cotton or another natural fiber?

Would lining it make a difference?

  • You can add a lining. People will have a variety of ways to wear the top, with or without a lining. The yarn in the demonstration is acrylic. Cotton would be a very good yarn to use. This pattern will adapt nicely to smaller yarn. Maybe try the top in the shower/bathtub prior to public use to see how it will hold up wet.

  • Please share your results through a video or comment when you are finished.

  • Too cute!

  • My girls are going to love this. Your the bomb! (that's a good thing)

  • wow i love you Teresa!

    im gonna try this

  • OMG!!! YOU DIDN"T. GOD BLESS YOUR SOUL. thanks a million

  • You are welcome. Happy crocheting. Please share your results.

  • I agree, a bottom video would be good. You just don't see people making bottoms for some reason.

  • I may be able to provide a bottom pattern but will not be able to tell you what happens if it gets wet or is worn in the ocean. I have seen bikinis on TV that are not meant to go in the water and that is my thought toward crochet bikinis. I have a lot of faith and know all of you are very creative. If you are able to make it work in water, please share your results.

  • Thanks so much, now I know what I am going to give my sister for her birthday!!! I would love for you to show us how to make the bottoms also!!

  • I will keep that in mind.

  • this is AWESOME!!!! thanks for posting :)

  • You are welcome.

  • WOW WOW WOW, can this thing actully get wet?? it dosnt look like it could actully be used as a bikini

  • I have a tiny triangle/star that I made a couple years ago. Some people have taken that tiny triangle, made it larger and used it as a bikini top. Getting this wet will depend on the yarn/cotton. I researched this and found that people have used crochet bikini's in the water. Using it in the water will be up to the person.

  • OMG U DID IT I FKING LOVE YOU!! i was searching youtube the other day for a good one of these n i was like, how come the other gal im subscribed too doesnt have one at least i can understand hers T-T lol WOOOOOT!!

  • too cute bikini loved it

    rated awsome

  • you are great

  • can you make a video on how to make a bikini bottom? This is great! Thanks!

  • I will keep it in mind.
