  • He's a pretty smart guy! :)

  • hes so cute

  • I always wondered whether people ride cows! I know about bull riding but i didn't know if people actually ride them in saddles etc! I guess i know now! How cool!

  • amazing!,the coes near mine just chase you and bite (we dont intrude in the field, its a public footpath) XD and thats very cool!

  • This is happens when you can't afford a horse. Isn't it? Lol, not in a bad way.

Riding a steer is probably a fun experience, I want to ;o

  • Oh my gosh I want to ride a steer!!! Haha I was doing a paper on show jumping once and I saw a picture of a show jumping cow! XD

He's cute, Im glad you didn't peirce his nose to put a bit. I think that that is just painful, retarded, and pointless. How old is he btw?

  • Awwwwwww, this is so cuuute! <3

  • How Long did it take you to train him? I recently got a dairy cow, shes young so I want to train her to ride =)

  • How do you train a cow? They must be smarter than they look.....(No offense to Jackson)

  • Very Cute. (: Great age for the animal to be ridden and he's not rodeos type so he looks happy and healthy :D

  • Yo what's with all the french down there?

this is so coool! I want a cow.

  • yall look like twins!

  • haha :) adorable i decided that im gonna train a cow to jump and compete in a jumping class xD

  • It's stupid to ride cow because they can do the same think than horses. They haven't backbone and vertebre like horses they are more brittle and it's not easy for cow to be ride by humans.

But we can see the stupidity of humans: they can't stop thirst of power on the animals. Animals must wait on humans it's incredible and you don't love animal for behave like that.

  • @Tvishaify You don't know anything about bovines, so why are you saying that their backbone is brittle? Also why are you slamming peoples videos of them riding their steers?

  • @kccmm1 I know they are like donkey, it's difficult for him to be ride. But they are good on trailer hitch.

  • @Tvishaify Bovines can do alot of things a horse can do. There are alot of videos out on the internet showing that they can do it, go watch em. Pioneers and settlers back in the 1800s rode their longhorns on cattle drives, so cattle riding has been around for some time, also cattle adapt better than horses and are more profitable.

(sorry but my english is horrible so I speak in french! lol! )

  • What a beautiful animal! And very well tamed! My hats off to you! Congratulations! :-)

  • aw! so cute and looks fun!:D i'm acctuly buying a hefer(spelling :P?) and getting the farm owner to show me how to teach her. can't wait!^^

  • Jackson is amazing!

  • okay, this is freaking AMAZING

  • @GottaHaveMyHorse

    haha! thanks so much. :)

  • have you ever tried jumping him at all?

  • @ponygirllover999

Yep, we have done a bit of jumping, none while im on him... and not in a while, but we used to run along and jump them together... we arent near the jumps anymore or else id get back into it!

  • Aww, Jackson looks adorable! Well Done On Training Him :)

  • @ShockingHannaH

And you must be retarded. :) Obviously, your the only one here with that opinion, so how about next time, you keep it to yourself. Thanks.

  • @queenielauren1helga Actually he's not the only one here with that opinion :D

  • @queenielauren1helga Not the only one... But it looks funny and its pretty amaizing how you do that. But i have seen a girl who was jumping and stuff and the cow and girl are very close.

  • @ShockingHannaH who cares if she looks stupid? shes riding a COW who gives a crap?

  • @ShockingHannaH Innovative thinking is BAAAAAAAA D.

  • @ShockingHannaH how many times have your riden a steer? Its called having fun maybe you should try it sometime instead of being a jerk to others

  • fantastic!!! how long have you trained her??? it must be funny!!

  • @44gatti92

I have had him all his life, been riding him since he was nearly 2 and he is going to be 5 this november.. :)

  • @queenielauren1helga awww so cute! lol u can handle a steer while i cant handle my 4 year old mare! lol

  • Have tried jumping that fine geld....aaaahhhhemm steer yet??

  • @Scottyscamp

Not in a while! But next time we are on the property with jumps i will try it again! :)

  • don't be so proud, we're coming to free our litle sister from this barbarism.

Meuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh- agent cow working as a mole for the fbi

  • wow that is alot of blubber.

  • your training a cow dressage........... thats, different? hahha

  • hahah! steers are awesome:D

  • Oh seriously, grow up. He is fine with it, ALOT of other people do it, its not a bucking animal, im not doing anything mean, so just grow up.

Get a life other then running around abusing people, its just sad. As if we give about your opinion, especially when ur such an idiot about it. Dont see anyone else cheering you on do you.

    Get a life. =]

  • to rodeosabuseanimals..a person is a person regarding age, sex color weight....weather your fat or skinny, black or white..we ALL have feelings! Please dont offend people with your fat jokes! you know WE HAVE FEELINGS and it hurts!

  • I'm with you on that! Cows/Bulls backs are not meant to carry weight especially a fat dork like her and it has a saddle! Christ sake as if the thing isnt carrying enough weight. There's no excuse letting yourself get that size.

  • What are you talking about? cattle have been used for draft and riding for hundreds of years before horses. in many places in the world cattle are still used over horses for these purposes because they are more economical.

  • dude lol or chick um have u ever heard of a ox well fyi thats a steer like that most likely of a dairy breed so learn ur crap before u call people dumb gosh it like u are idk being dumb urself

  • @rodeosabuseanimals if bulls can carry people and buck and kick and spin im pretty sure a cow can too

  • Haha hes so cute :]

  • lol has he bucked you off before?

  • Nope, never bucked while i was on him, though ive seen him when he is out playing in the paddock. He is a good boy. =]

  • can he run? that would be adorable to train him in like, dressage.

  • Haha, yeah, if you have a look i have a video of us trotting.. and we have cantered once, but the saddle isnt stable enough to do too much, waiting till i get a crupper! =]

i think i could train him in dressage, the basics but he'd never be amazing. haha..

  • That is awesome, I fully plan on getting one of those cows with the weird lumps on thier backs and teaching him to ride someday. For now I ride horses, lol!

  • lol! i hav riden a cow and someday i wanna train one and jump it!

  • You both definitly should. And brahmans or other indicus are a good idea. The brahmans are very smart and i think the hump will help a GREAT deal with saddle slippage, cos its like they have a wither! =]

  • lol i want to ride one i show them and lie down and sleep with them but im not aloud the ride them grrr i think i do everything but ride them

  • lol! me too! although i hav riden a cow before. itz preety uncomfortable with no saddle pad, but itz really fun. i reccomend it highly!

  • That used to be me!! .... i used to show steers, and we would break them in, love them, show them, sleep with them, sit on them, the lot... and then they would go to slaughter, broke my heart every time, so i got my own!! =]

  • wow my steer would prolly never let me do tht...lol

    how'd you do it?

  • Well, i raised Jackson from 2 weeks old, and have been giving him little bits of training since then. But im confident i could train an older steer to do it too, infact i plan on doing so, soon, when i get my own bit of land!

  • wut my heaps are cool that makes sence .........ur welcome

  • Wow your heaps cool. Thanks. Loser.

  • Omg i have never seen thiz b4! could u teach him 2 jog & lope? lol

  • Yeah.. :) check out some of my other videos of him trotting.. none of the canter yet though.

  • Don't listen 2 rodeodude202 hes juz a freaker trying 2 attention or make som1 hurt. I don't think your fat. I bet he can't even train a steer by looks of hiz name "rodeo" all he does iz beat hiz animals 2 buck at the rodeos. So no worries. =) & I will check out the vids of your steer trotting.

  • Looking great! Now let's see a piaffe!

  • yeah i have and there terrified and thats wen i started to hate it

  • what about other sites. Not to be mean i dont want to fight but i have been doing researches for 10 years!

  • have you ever competed in rodeos?or even gone to rodeo events?

  • umm i dont want to be mean but sharkonline on youtube has updates of 2008 of them shocking the horses and bulls that are crazy and ones that dont buck! check it for your self trust me and i study them so i should know.

  • you need to do some more research and you will find that SHARK is not always right.

  • further more , SHARK is a little weird.

  • i want to do this with my steer. how do i get started? Dikota (Dic/ko/ta) is 8 months old and is a Angus/Jursey mix. i have a vid of him when he was like 2 weeks old and 6 months. right now he's lke 400 to 500 lbs. plz type back! :)

    ~ Michael David

  • Hi Michael, somehow i missed this message! So sorry..

Have you made anymore progress with your steer? And how trained is he?

I am sure i can point you in the right direction, if you arent already there! :D

  • I ride my shorthorn steers all the time, but bareback with a rope halter lol my last one neck-reined LOL I used to lope him all over the the ranch LOL

  • I have a black and white horse named Jackson. And I take a steer to the county fair. But im to scared to ride him. thats really kewl that you can ride him does he run fast or r u to scared to run him. I would be way to nervous to run a steer. How did you get him calm enough to ride him. And di he ever buck when you first got on him?

  • Hey thats cool that you show steers, you should try and ride one!!

I have had jackson since he was only 2 weeks old.. but you can train older steers too.. its just harder! :) Just working with them alot and doing alot of different things will make them quiet enough.. but theres a few different things we do in the lead up to actually riding them.

    :)

  • now that looks like funn nice ride :) that cow loves you well he trusts you thats why his not being evil.Dont worry he will never be like a rodeo cow cause they shock them to buck.

  • Acually they dont shock the bulls to buck. the use a flank stap. TO make them buck. The flank strap just tickles them and makes them buck. T

  • Exactly. :)

And he'd never be like that anyways cos of his training and upbringing, thank for the comment :)

  • How did cow riding start? Does it hurt them? Do they have the same aids as horses? What can they do?

Tell me all about it, please! This is very cool and I'd like to learn more!

  • Hello... its a long story...

i will send u a private message explaining all! :D

  • oh! thank you! i'd love to hear the story

  • Sign him up for a dressage competition! He he he! :D

  • pretty cow!

  • how is the cow? lol XD

  • He is well!! :) Really big now.. Alot bigger then in this video.. He will have his 3rd birthday on 28th of november.. lots of growing and riding in his future! :) thanks for the comment.

  • so do you break a cow like a horse?

  • that is so amazing. I live in a very rural part of the country so most of my friends are cow farmers but whenever i asked if they could ride the cows they thought I was crazy. and yes I am so going to get one. I have broke a horse or to on my own so I think I'll be fine if it bucks and freaks out or whatever at first. I can't wait to try it. Thanks for the info

  • okay so I have a question. can people seriously ride cows like that? obviously you are, but there backs look like they would break or something. I ride horses but I would love to have my own cow to ride!

  • :) cool that you want to own one... i ride horses too and its great.. riding a cow is so different! Yet somewhat similar in some ways.

Um yes.. they are fine with being ridden.. it doesnt hurt their back if they are mature, developed and old enough. They are very strong.. and need to be to carry all their own weight.. they show no strain whatsoever and i have never once seen my animal sore. not once. :) do you think u will get one someday? :)

  • Awesome Possum! I've got a Jersey Braham Mix that's broke

  • haha that is awesome.. do you have any videos of them?... id love to chat with you bout it all! :)

  • We need more videos of Jackson!!

  • lol im working on it haha.. will be going to see him.. monday will get some then! haha Thanks.

  • Thank YOU!! <3

  • i would love a cow like that do you ride him like a horse like walk trot canter

  • how do u break a cow??

  • He's on his forehand! He needs to be more collected and through!

  • hey, thanks for the comment... what u mean he is on his forehand.. sorry! :S

lol.. yeah.. hard to get him collected.. he was being a bit silly.. also cattle are meant to collect differently to horses cos they bend differently.. btu we are workin on it :)

thanks again for the tips.. and id appreciate any more u have!! :) thanks

  • very nice ya i want more from you i didnt see girls riding cow......

  • hahah thats beyond awesome

  • thanks! :D

  • you should check out my video of my sis riding her steer she met the author to a book that rode her steer and when she came home she got right on her litte steer

  • cool

  • That is way cool.

  • Thanks! :) And same to you Holstien cowboy.. :)

  • When did you start training him? How did you do it! This is wonderful! Our cow is due to have a calf any day now, and if it is a boy, we want to train him. This is so inspiring!

  • He looks like he's making a lot of progress in learning how to be ridden!
