@ArtistBlade1972 Thanks! The pitch bowl is not a "bowl", I didn't really know that it was a bowl so I made a solid half steel sphere. Had a water jet cutter at a previous work and made a few circles in thick steel that I welded together and then an hour or two with the angle grinder and it was smooth. Then I welded a ring on top to hold the pitch, and it doesn't work to well as it cracks and come lose, I might rebuild it later.
@ArtistBlade1972 I've tried it once, and will probably do again when I need to do a set of menuki for my blades. You may not even need a bowl like this, some people use a thick wooden board but that can't be tilted.

@brutolf At least it looks nice and heavy. I've done a good many wire inlays like that but I'd really like to get good at chasing and repousse.
