  • jackie wilson reste un grand de la soul...

  • Mr. Entertainer ! Thanks for posting.

  • @50srocknrollfan18 This movie's on Youtube (The full version) and it's actually allowed they won't take it down! :D

  • @xEdddie yes! i found that out after posting the previous comment. i watched it. very good

  • @50srocknrollfan18 Buddy Holly FTW! rock & Roll will never die! :)

  • Amzing quality! thanx for posting.

P.S this from the movie "Johnnie B. Goode!" which also shows performances by Bill Haley, Ritchie Valens(very rare, but the video is on youtube) and many others.

  • Michael Jackson Took ALL of Jackie s moves!!

  • Jackie Wilson was awesome! Elvis was right this guy should have been number one, he had it all.

  • what the feck is happening to our music nowadays? for feck sake...doesn't happen like this now

  • Elvis said, he could see no reason why Jackie shouldn't be the number one singer in the world

  • Ive herd jackie bck in the days but never saw any video footage....did MJ watch this as well? His moves are so reminiscent to jackies....

  • I just recently discovered Jackie Wilson and I'll have to add him to the List of Men I'd Marry Based Soley (Souly) on Their Talent. Mind you, there have been some upsets, along the way, with the List. I did not like learning that Rod Serling was only 5'4"... And then, seeing Warren Zevon in concert.. the attraction just wasn't there...It's a tough ol' life keeping the gods entertained!

Anyway, thanks for posting. Much appreciated.

  • Jackie was so smooth!!! Love him!

  • Fantastic moves by Jackie... What a legend!

  • LOOK AT ALL THE WHITE PEOPLE.......

  • @rko440 hahah they cant dance hahahaha shit i thought it was just white ppl today that cant dance hahaha

  • ELVIS AIN'T GOT NOTHIN' ON YOU BABE

  • With all of the so-called docu-drama movies (Ray, La-Bamba, Lyman, Dream Girls, etc) they've made over the past twenty-five years, I fail to understand why a movie has yet to be to be made with an unbelieveable story, about an unbelieveable talent, with an unbelieveable voice, wrapped up in an unbelieveable tradgedy no screen write could ever devise. WHY NOT? For all the money Gordy made off of Wilson, HE (alone) should do it. Or maybe Nate Tarnabaums family? RIP great one!

  • Mr Class

  • thisdude was one cool cat. higher and higher was one of the best songs of all time. of all time....

  • jackiie wilson does not need to copy from anyone it orginate from God himself his talent. Jackie Wilson was well into his game when Elvis came along. I hate to bust your image of the great white Elvis but his great great mother is a black woman.

  • @quaqua112606 Yes - her name was Morning White Dove...Elvis was proud of his Native American heritage.

It was Elvis who was originally in awe of Jackie after seeing him perform in Las Vegas with his group The Dominos in 1956 and later when they DID get to meet each other in 1966, Elvis said to Jackie that there was no reason why Jackie shouldn't be the number one performer in the world with the TALENT that Jackie had.

They both had mutual admiration & respect for each other...Its on record!

  • You always get this argument with the soul aficionados, trying to make the blacks feel hijacked and exploited. They need to think on, if it wasnt for the mass white market of interest there wouldnt be enough of their own kind to buy this shit in the first place. I mean 'shit' with respect btw .

  • why cant you just enjoy the muisc instead of bringing race into it. Its always this white man copied from this black man blah blah. Jackie Wilson admitted on his own that Elvis was a big influence on him . But no you have to speak for him no matter what right?

  • @quality333

Probably because historically African American musician's role in the music industry has been usurped. Cheated and misguided by management and agents, many musicans have died or lived broke, while others have continued to make money from royalties of the artist's work. There is a reason why Prince has resorted to changing his name for a period or years until his contract expired with Sony. If you do not know, you should research it. Look up the term Rock and Roll and its history

  • why cant you just enjoy the muisc instead of bringing race into it. Its always this white man copied from this black man blah blah. Jackie Wilson admitted on his own that Elvis was a big influence on him . But no you have to speak for him no matter what right?

  • wow so thats were jb got that move from.........

  • IF you look at Elvis doing Return to sender it Jackie all over The story goes thats Jackie was on the set when Elvis did the clip for the song

  • @stebear58 This rumor has been going around for w ahile now, but Jackie was NOT on the set of "Return To Sender" (1962). They had not met yet. They were to meet 4 years later when Elvis came to see Jackie performing at a nightclub, "The Trip", in Los Angeles in 1966.

  • A blackman Elvis!

  • @therealraybaby Hi there you look at Elvis doing Return To Send and it is Jackie all over the story is Jackie was on the set when Elvis film the clip for the song

  • @therealraybaby Correction Elivis was a White Jackie Wilson.

  • @1976tech What do you mean by this?

  • Oh man, look at that footwork. What a badass.

  • what a man beautiful ..still sad hes gone just loved hes ways lovely lovely man ..meet him in 1971 in london at a gag ...bless ..........

  • This boy has got soul.

  • Boy I sure miss this guy

  • Great video of the black Elvis! Jackie Wilson and Elvis influenced each other. It wasn't just a one-way thing. They had great respect for each other. We should also have great respect for them BOTH!

  • so thats where the northern soulies got it from :)

  • ...a singin' & dancin' spirit. RIP Jackie.

  • What a wonderful voice. I bet Elvis Presely and Michael Jackson are jaming with Jackie Wilson in the heavens...

  • whats the tune in ht efirst 6 seconds?

  • Jackie, James Brown, Chuck Berry, and Little Richard stared it all, I thank the LORD, that they where giving to us. Some of them left us to soon.

  • great dancing! by Jackie not by the audience!..

  • @doctorkproductions The audience sucks!

  • Jackie's foot work with a tight shuffle may be what Dan Akroid mimic's in the Blues Brothers.

  • if jackie was still alive today i would give him the biggest hug! what a fantastic dancer & singer! i learnt the dance at 1:14 today without wearing shoes lol boy i'll tell ya i didn't it pretty good but now i've got all blisters on my damn toe! lol should of wore shoes i know haha! 5*

  • damn you know he got laid, like crazy...

  • The interesting part comes around 0:54 where they show the audience trying to get into rhythm. What a contrast! What a hoot! What's wrong with you people?

  • theyre white people in the 50s, lmao

  • @playgirlc

    I see ...

  • Comment removed

  • The reason they "don't have the rhythm", is that they are not actually dancing to this song... Jackie was filmed at a soundstage, while they were filmed at another location. Then Jackie was edited into the dance sequence. They were never on the set at the same time...I believe they were filmed in different cities. Who knows what music they were dancing to...if any at all.

  • @PutOnASweater

    Thank you.

  • I like this ooommyggood i really didn't know he could move like that i really like this go JW you are the only one that can do it no one else can if they could it would have been done GO GO JW GO

  • @shawin09 as good as this is, it's NOTHING compared to his live performances....he was absolutely amazing and there will NEVER be anyone to take his place or even come close to what he could do on record or in person!

  • I though i was dreaming when i saw this

shoot me now don't kill me later i never really look at this like that wholly cow i don't know who to send this too the radio

the tv somebody else has to see this jw should get a trophy for this dance no one can do this

  • Am I dreaming or did I just see Jackie the first, very basic MOONWALK in this vid. Check it out at 00:44! MJ, eat your heart out!!!!

  • Why does this have to be so racial? Cool off folks. White or black or yellow or blue, who cares? Talent is talent and that should be enough. If it's the colour that bothers you, get yourself down to your local racial segregation society, be that black or white. Don't come here and kill the very thing that crosses the boundaries. BTW, Jackie is fabulous and so is Elvis, who gives a shit about their colour? Jackies moves are better though!!!

  • hahaaaaa.

    look at them dance moves!!

    love this man omg.

  • HELL YEAH i love this <3

  • LOL @ them white folks snapping all off beat even for film where they could re-take and re-edit as much as they want!

I guess you just can't practice rhythm.

  • side note: im pretty sure billy ocean did the "moonwalk" b4 MJ

  • this kind of dancing "jukin and jivin" predated wilson, elvis, even james brown tho they all had thier own flair with it. thats why no "created" it. it had been part of black culture for in some way as far back as slavery, certain people however some not so well known (forgotten) capitalized on it.

  • Elvis was one of his few regular visitors as well. Jackie himself said that black performers all took bits of their stage moves from Elvis -- kind of an interesting contradiction, since what is typically talked about is Elvis "sounding black" or "stealing" black music....bottom line, too many great ones died WAY to young!

  • kevin- good point. Well said

  • @kevinrdougherty

Which white artists did these black performers get their stage moves? Elvis imitated Jackie Wilson from head to toe as well as voice and actions. Read his bio, Wilson was Presley's idol.

  • I think you misunderstood what I posted. I referred to a quote I read attributed to Jackie Wilson in which he stated that all the black performers he knew borrowed from Elvis - those were not my words or my opinion.

I think performers are just as impressionable as anybody else. So, it doesn't seem suprising to me to see even the great ones doing similar things. Saying someone "copied" someone else sounds a bit harsh for my tastes.

  • elvis couldnt carry jackies jock.

elvis had very little talent ,he was just white.

  • Maybe Elvis couldn't carry jackies jock but he did pay some of his hospital bills after the stroke.

  • Love his footwork! Great man.

  • ..and who did British singers Cila Black and Georgie Fame copy/imitated: African-American singers, Dionne Warwick, Billy Stewart and many others. These are just facts. Say no more! The Beatles never denied that they listened to Soul Music and that's where they got their ideas. Please give black artists credit for bringing some of the greatest music and dance to the scene. The truth needs to be written.

  • thanks for the great comment and conversation

  • @Teaser0424 not sure why you have written this?? but no one i know does not give the blacks the credit they deserve !! two of the greatest entertainers in the world..one was black Micheal Jackson the other was Elvis Presley who everyone knows learnt from and copied the blacks...sadly in the 50s the blacks were not given credit but those singers are now known for the great songs they did before us whites stole them for re release to the white kids

  • @Teaser0424 Better believe it, muthafucka!

Y'all, if'n it weren't for them Black artistes we sho' wouldn't have no good music today.

Thank you - you are absolutely right.

    Keep tellin' the trurth.

    Kenny. Glasgow, Scotland.

  • Yes, the story must be told! If not, there is too much room for lies and re-telling of history. He was absolutely one of the best performers and singers!!! Amazing. There needs to be a movie telling his story. All of it!!!

  • @Teaser0424 the sooner the better it would be a fantastic tribute to a true legend . sadly he had tragic end to his life . absolute brilliance

  • This guy set the dance style for James Brown and Michael Jackson. Way ahead of his time. Too bad he died on stage from a massive stroke that killed him. But James Brown and Michael Jackson had no problem stealing his moves, and not giving him any credit what so ever. That's the music world.....

  • um that's not true

MJ did admit he got his moves from him. As a matter of fact MJ did a program for James Brown before he died and he did JB so well JB had to remind MJ that he had his own moves and his own thing. If i can find it i will send it to u

  • actually mj is noted to have said he didnt invent any moves...he was inspired by many and perfected them into his own style...

  • I Think, I agree

But don`t mind ! Wasn`t it Don K.Reed, who said: "The original is always the original! " ;-)

  • awesome!!!

  • Without a doubt, Michael Jackson's Moonwalk was inspired by Jackie's moves!!!!!!

  • I love the timeless happines! :-)

  • JW His music and dance moves are timeless!

  • i wonder when the jackie wilson movie gonna come out.

  • @Coveogrrreat

Never thought of that but it's a fantastic idea. Question is who would play the great man?

  • @Coveogrrreat I've been wondering that myself. An Otis Redding movie is also way overdue to show that there was a time when talents like these were the real deal. I found and read an Otis bio and now looking for a Jackie bio. Know of any titles you can suggest?

  • @archimenes There is a Jackie Wilson bio written by Tony Douglas. I found it on Amazon...you can probably get your local shop to order it for you.

  • fuk elvis muhfuka

  • Elvis must have listened to Jackie too. I hear some similarities for sure.

  • Whoozinga- Elvis and Jackie were very good friends, and each had very similar styles. You can see Presley doin a little Jackie Wilson in some songs in his movie clips on You Tube, like Stuck on You

  • Better still check out the movie version of "Return To Sender"

  • He was also one of the few who visited Jackie in the hospital on a regular basis after he went into a coma.

  • Awesome! I just love the steaming tea cup and saucer behind him too, lol.

  • micheal gave wilson due credit freely, he was one of Micheals Idols. Wheareas mj is one of our idols.

  • What about "The Jackie Wilson Story" The youth of today need to know of this beautiful talented individual. He had the voice, the looks, the moves!! He was my first crush - JCD

  • Jackie is not given the credit he deserves for his influence. I saw a James Brown move, a MJ move on this video......boy, I can just sit and watch him and feel HAPPY!!!

  • jackie Wilson é foda!!!

  • loool so thats where michael jackson got that little move from 0:27 - 0:32 he said he listened and watched a lot of jackie wilson and james brown, i usually see the james brown but now im starting to see the jackie wilson xD

  • and Jackie got his style right from Hank Ballard and the midnighters

  • ....that's a funny one...make up some more "facts" just to make us laugh! You've got a great sense of humor, you're comedian aren't you!

  • perhaps you have heard of a group called "the Royals"? on king records?

check out Hank Ballard and the Midnighters as well as the "royals" Hank Ballard was in both groups. You can clearly hear where Jackie got his phrasing and a large part of his style.

  • I know the group, I had seen and met Hank Ballard a number of times When hank auditione for the goup, none of the members wanted him except Alanzo Tucker (the old man) who convinced them to let him in. Jackie's cousin,Levi Stubbs, was at 1 time a member of the group. Alanzo eventually worked & wrote for Jackie, he was the uncredited composer of one of his biggest hits, "Doggin' Around". Vocally,Jackie was mostly influenced by Roy Brown & Roy Hamilton..listen carefully to these 2 great artists.

  • Damn...you straight schooled bugsy. LMAO

  • Yes, big influence by Roy Brown. You can hear it in the earlier records, especially.

  • Man. He was so wonderful. Just makes you happy to see and hear him. THANKS!

  • Wow those people had no idea of what snapping to the beat was!

  • He was in coma for 8 years before he passed on

    poor chap !

  • He danced very very well!

  • J'adore, super chanteur et danseur !!

  • 0:53 They are snapping totally offbeat...but Jackie Wilson was extremely enlightened because he doesnt sacrifice his dignity at all in his music. Especially during such racist times. He created something out of nothing, much like everyone can do if they tried anything original. And he demanded respect through demonstration. Powerful man.

  • ;38 in the beging of the moon walk then 105 in the best foot slide ur ever see

  • wow, i see why Michael Jackson liked him.

  • He use to those incredible dance moves that Michael did similar to his

  • yeah 1:05 is a amazing part!!! :):):)

  • there is fuc nice i love it.

  • that one foot slide @ 1:05...wonder if james brown got it from jackie or vise-versa...:?

    Both are awesome talents

  • 1:05

  • Actually, I already have it. Nice video btw.

  • In the intro to this video, what's that song called?

Wasn't it sampled for that 50cent and Game song?

Can you tell me the name of it.

  • It's 'The Game - Hate it or Love It'

  • good

  • check out jackie wilson said by van morrison and dexys midnight runners

    awesome

    go jackie go

  • this man is a very talented artist he could dance he ass off now this is what you call a dam good performance.

  • The movie is titled "GO JOHNNY GO", I believe

from the '50's or 1960! Hope this helps!

    Best, Marcie B.
