  • 特別

  • brit pop...I don't llike

  • 70s passion for free.......good work man i have many years to lisen this track.

  • as if anyone listening to can is going to buy a 'Jason Derulo' album. what the fuck youtube

  • I prefer the Radiohead version

  • @radioheadlover100 Is good, but the original does it for me so much more. The original was not even on a proper album, think it was an archive thing, and its stll amazing, Cans proper studio stuff will blow your mind, if you have time and interest give Tago Mago a listen.

  • ésta es la mamá de las mamás de las rolas

  • Can ist unheimlich! This song could have come out yesterday -- truly timeless.

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • this is awesome

  • these lyrics are incredible

  • Far to late...Far to late... Far to late...Far to late...Far to late...Far to late... Far to late...Far to late...

    This bad had vision...

  • busco baterista para banda de Los Angeles... tenemos lockout y nos late el kraut, post punk, y shoegaze. ahora es 8/30/11... ke onda?

  • sooooooooooooooooooooooo nice

  • majestic

  • It's that time of year again

  • @TheWiddershin mmm... Late Summer and Autumn. So beautful, so ominous. When the air is heavy and everything seems so painfully, urm, real. Can always resonates with me during these times. Or maybe I just misunderstand you.

  • once again, once again, once again...play,play,play

  • So while The Beatles were playing four-open-chords songs on 4/4 beats these guys were playing contemporary masterpieces? I guess being good is not enough to make you famous.

  • @galagaman

Did you happen to notice that this is also a four-chord song with a 4/4 beat?.

  • @galagaman i see where you are going with that comment, & while I am no fan of the beatles i learnt during grade 2 music theory that they used quite a lot of different time signatures & meter. this song is in 4/4 by the way.

  • @galagaman there fame is delayed its stil growing.

  • Thanks to radiohead for showing me Can. What wonderful, different bands.

  • Como se llama el Album que contiene esta cancion?//As is a name of the Albums?

  • @fedecobain89 delay o 1968, nunca supe bien el nombre

  • @fedecobain89 delay

  • amazing im glad i found these guys

  • fat drums

  • oh hi there 240 p

  • Классика,Классика, на Века!!!!!!!!!!!

  • These guys are the Walrus.

  • dieser track war wohl nur deshalb nicht auf der monster movie, weil die schon bis zum anschlag voll war. das ding hier ist ein absolutes highlight. der rest der delay kommt da nicht annähernd ran

  • Never forget that Malcom Mooney was the voice in many songs befor Damo Suzuki entered Can.

  • i have never felt the pain in lyrics more so than expressed in this song. this is the work of a genius.

  • where has this been all my life?????

  • is radiohead's 'hail to the thief' album a nod to this???

  • @pureecstasy I was just wondering the same thing, since I read that the song "There, There" was directly influenced by Can... Maybe I can hear a little of that in this song, I don't know, what do you think?

  • @pureecstasy definitely. they've actually covered this song before

  • @pureecstasy no i believe it refers to george bush's questionable victory in the election in 2000

  • @pureecstasy nope. apparently it's an allusion to 18th century american politics

  • his voice is pure sex.

    my insides are coiling

  • Radio head- hahahahaha

  • Comment removed

  • this guy says "buzz band covering radiohead"...stupid motherfuck crack me up

  • Yes!

  • Still fresh.

  • Why must I be the thief?

  • i first heard the cover by radiohead, and i loved it.

but this is just as awesome, if not even better.

    i'm truly in love!

  • The purpose of a cover is not to replay the song and put your own voices over it. It is to give the song your own personal flavour.

    Radiohead clearly did that–

  • @BacAArdilicious nah, I personally perfer covers as literal as possible.. it's kind of insulting to reinterpret something that was great to begin with.

  • joy division rip offs

  • @daveyisahermin Irony? Look at the date!

  • @daveyisahermin You iz stupidz or someting? Joy diversionz is more discotech

  • @daveyisahermin .....sounds nothing like joy division... This band was around wayyy before Joy Division to rip them off anyways. so get your shit straight

  • Oliver Stone must have missed this one. Fantastic

  • I love this song's music, instrumentation, lyrics...Im just not sure what to make of the singing...

  • Radiohead has done a great cover of it!

  • i'm glad that this band made this song. truly i am, but i just feel thom yorke's voice is just so expressive with the song.

maybe because i heard Radiohead's version first. either way, without can we wouldn't have either song. so i can appreciate that much about Can i guess.

  • Another buzz band doing pointless covers of Radiohead songs.

  • @ideoteqa : Is this sarcasm?

  • @UHandsomeDevil - what do you mean?

  • @ideoteqa : I meant were you doing an ironic lulz about a "buzz band doing pointless covers of Radiohead songs." Cause if so, you have me doing ROFLMAO.

  • @ideoteqa I agree, his vocals are a kurt cobainz rip off... you twat

  • @ideoteqa seriously, I hope you're joking....

  • @Zerusuke - why everyone keeps saying, what did i said?

  • @ideoteqa Can made this song in 1967-1968, Radiohead did the cover decades later.

  • @ideoteqa this one came about 25-30 years before radiohead was even around dipshit

  • Fantastic song! Fantastic band! Greetings from Serbia!

  • sounds kind of like the red hot chilli peppers!

  • It NEVER ceases to amaze me how absurdly good Jaki Liebezeit's drumming is. The man is a TOTAL BALLER

  • @pchiare I was going to try and say something about Jaki's drumming but you sort of summed it up.

  • can't believe this was 1968 song, incredible

  • @canvideocan because it's not.

  • @canvideocan Why can't you believe this was 1968? It sounds exactly like it was recorded in that year, one of the best years ever for rock music. If it seems ahead of its time, it's only because later music has been for 20 years ripping off music from this golden era.

  • i love the can drums.

  • Best kraut-song?

  • Intense, powerful song. Some of the best lyrics I've ever heard. And I guess I'm one of the few who heard this version first and still actually likes the Radiohead cover. It's equally intense and powerful in it's on very different kind of way.

  • Ummmm.... so he sounds like he's dying and yet he's still singing... THAT FUCKING ROCKS!

  • @xbusterwolfx

Why does it suck if he sounds as he is dying? Usually that's called singing passionately and it's a good thing. Mooney's voice turns my soul inside out.

  • do they have myspace?

  • .... your all retarded, this sucks, he sounds like he is dying, and if you say im wrong you have bad taste or you should go sit in your rocking chair grandpa and stay off youtube

  • @xbusterwolfx If this sucks then why did you come on here to tell us, stick to youre own tastes and we'll stick to ours, now do one!

  • @xbusterwolfx If this song 'sucks', then why did a band you have so much affinity for [Radiohead] cover this exact song that you claim 'sucks'? Suffice it to say that by your standards, they too have bad taste...? Perhaps it reflects on their music and subsequently the fan-base that adore and covet their music? You're inherently saying your taste sucks, and by extension that your favourite band have bad taste in music. Point well-made.

  • @raydrt That is a decadent and postmodern comment.

  • @Rufusdos

Is that grandiloquence, or a mistake?

...Sorry, I've alway wanted to say that.^

  • @Rufusdos

But anyway, get away from me with your adjectives. I'll inform you if I need anyone to pass an opinion upon an opinion.

  • @xbusterwolfx this doesn;t suck. YOU suck.

  • radiohead are english. They stole it !

    Case closed

  • Hyper! Hyper!

Excuse me! Where is the bass drum?

    We need the bass drum!!!

  • it's hypnotizing.

  • fuck this is so good :D :D

  • AMAZING, Malcolm Mooney was Can's best vocalist I don't even care about the praise Suzuki gets (even though he's great too)

  • could hear this a hundred times in a row, fuckin awesome

  • timeless music wasn't made for a specific time. I don't see this as "20 or 30 years before its time". It was in the present, and it's still a present to listen to.

  • @jacobkay i was going to say something like it, but you just put it in the right words! - it was and it still is!!!!!

  • @jacobkay

Exactly, and if it sounds more similar to stuff made later, it's because people listened to what they were up to and where they were headed, and followed.

  • @jacobkay I could not have said it better~

  • this was atleast 20 years ahead of its time almost 30

  • One of the greatest tracks of all time.... Mooney's searingly affecting vocal riding over those heartbreaking harmonic changes.... Raw perfection.

  • @CultureJudge I couldn't have said it better Dizzy Dizzy is a amazing tune also

  • Superb.

  • 1968? impossible, its that defining? HOLY

  • Unbelievable...

  • There was a slightly different version of this by Can on some album United Artists put out in 1970 called German Rock Explosion. The mix is different and has an extra verse, thus making it about 40 seconds longer.

  • Jebli majku svoju!!!!Sta su oni snimali 68 najjaca psihodelija ikada!!!

  • radiohead are english. they stole it ! duh !

  • I'm pretty high right now.

  • Wow? I think there must be something that you're missing

    WOW !

  • Like the original version. This voice is so much desperate... far to late ......far to late...

  • Like the original version. This voice is so much desperate... far to late ......far to late...

  • It's stupid to compare CAN to any other band that have covered their songs or sound similar. Radiohead were obviously greatly influenced by them, as you can hear in just about every album released after 'OK Computer', and CAN have cited Pink Floyd as an influence, making it kind of impudent to say that one is better than the other, or that one sucks compared to the other.

And while I'm on that, the original is obviously better than Radiohead's cover. They didn't do much to it.

  • WOW?

  • @xbusterwolfx although i don't agree with you, at least you KNOW radiohead's version was a cover!

can't fault someone's taste, only mock it! :)

  • crackin´ good song

  • I'm with alltoohuman on this.Honestly why do some people always try to compare bands and imagine there's always a fight going on between everyone and everywhere.Radiohead were paying respect,I think they did good. This is indeed a nice song in it's original too.Enjoy the music and shut up unless you have something constructive to say from now on,please.

  • fake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wooo :)) slow down there lil billy :) dont compare "can" to radiohead PLEAAAASE :) PLEASE! :)

  • Goadmgoaofkoeka...goweog. Sorry, I'm speechless. Even before the vocals come in...I don't know what it is. It's like I'm transported to some field in the nighttime with blue rain pouring down and lightning cracking, and the wind blowing...all in the first thirty. Hey, I'm not a poet or anyting, that's really just how I feel about it. Oh, and this wasn't recorded in 1968. I mean, it was, but I think it's a conspiracy...this sounds like something from yesterday...

  • Incredible. Listen to Can and you don't hear the 60's and early 70's, but you do music from the following decades.

  • @WalksWithTurkeys Indeed. This entire album is a testament to how far ahead of their time they were. They could hold back a compilation of their first recordings for 13 years and it'd still sound like something brand new when released!

  • Mooney's finest moment.

  • radiohead didn't cover the song to make it better, they covered it to pay tribute to a great influence on them. just enjoy it all and forget what you can't enjoy.

  • fantastic song

  • the last few times i took acid i'd lock myself in the bathroom and listen to this song on repeat. there was a self serve carwash across the street. i could see it through the window. and the vacuums would look like dancing lost-in-space robots under the yellow streetlights. it was beautiful.

  • shut the fuck up

    and

    stop comparing bands

    just

    enjoy the music

  • this song is pretty epic, but sometimes when listening to the other Can stuff i can imagine radiohead 'pretending' to like Can as a sick joke on the media and masses to prove that people only like certain things because these famous artists are 'influenced' by them. but on the other hand, one of their albums is 'hail to the thief' and RH covered this song.

  • @MrNerveux Radiohead isn't playing a joke by educating the masses and letting them know there's other great bands out there besides Radiohead; great bands who have, in fact, heavily influenced the sound of Radiohead. I don't understand the nature of your comment. "Pretending to like Can?" It seems like you listened to a couple Can songs out of context, didn't find a tune you couldwhistle along to, and decided that since you didn't understand the music than Radiohead must have only been joking.

  • @seapockets oh yeah i know they weren't 'pretending', i was just speculating on the idea. i appreciate Can a lot myself where no one else i know gets it at all. it's nice of you to reply to my comment without a bunch of hate and musical elitism though man.

  • @MrNerveux I see what you mean, no worries. I read over my comment and it did come across as a bit snappy, glad to know you didn't get offended by it!

  • @MrNerveux Or maybe you just have shit taste, and Radiohead like Can because they're a good band. Listen to 'Dollars and Cents' for further evidence.

  • @misterbizzones calm down internet guru. i love Radiohead just as much as you do. why is everyone so righteous on here, go ahead and pull me down for being arrogant and do whatever you want man. i can't understand how two people who both enjoy radiohead can just argue and pick at each other

  • @MrNerveux i just hate that whole 'people only listen to this stuff to look cool' canard. it's not like can is white noise or anything; i'm sure anyone who appreciates a groove can get into this stuff if they want.

  • I am 12 what is this

  • @qwert4327able A secret portal into your inner self.

  • 1968! This shit is ahead of its time for sure.

  • well, i'm 3 years old en i'm an anta ant

  • outfkingstanding

  • Hinro, you're an idiot. Not because you don't like Radiohead, but because your opinions are uninformed. That, and you said Creep was a decent song. And you listen to trance.

  • Can is really the best band in the World ! Im 23 years old and this is the soundtrack of my Life ! Wish I could live in the 60 s! Im livin in the wrong century !

  • @DrumShag1986 my thoughts exactly

  • @DrumShag1986 almost feel the same. dj radiohead saved my life.... checkm out... check'm out and discover your flower power, see you in about 59 years

  • use dope for this one...

  • dosen't sound much like there other songs. His voice is so scratchy! Not to say that I don't llike it, in fact I LOVE IT! Just a supprise.

  • Great song

  • great sound...

but i think i would rather listen to a cat dying than to this singer -.-

  • forgottenjams com new music forum, don't let music fade into obscurity.

  • very nice!!! :)

  • these have to be some of the greatest lyrics ever written.

  • @MicahBuzan Written? I doubt Can has ever written any lyrics down.

  • @Snitsie most of the singing in can's music is gibberish and used soley for the sake of sound and feeling, but i have to say this song has some of the most powerfull lyrics i'v heard in any song by any band.

  • Best flippin' song ever!!! way inhead of their time. I wish i was as cool as these guys!

  • definetely a very electronic emphasis while still remaining quite bluesy and down... excellent...

  • penis hat jemand penis gesagt?

  • One of the greatest songs I've ever heard.

  • Agree. But the Delay 1968 record is not one of their best though. It would have been awesome if The Thief could have appeared on Tago Mago or Ege Bamyasi.

  • If you listen very carefully, Malcolm could sound very much like a hoarse Damon Albarn. Or Albarn sounds like an unhoarse Malcolm.

This is a great compliment by the way.

  • Can is amazing

  • Malcolm is the best vocalist of Can.

  • very strong track. it even topped my then favourite mary mary so contrary, when i heard it as the record came up in the early 80s. so much better, than everything else on the delay lp. wonder why they didn´t put it on their monster movie, instead of father cannot yell or so.

  • if you´re interestet in high-quality 60´s music,

look for white noise - electric storm , 1966

  • Damn good stuff, right there.
