My spelling may be off but studin came from studying you. "I ain't studying you" meaning I'm not paying any attention to you. So when people use it they dropped all of the ending sounds and left stuin or something to that effect. If you read ANY Zora Neale Hurstin,you will see a variety of black vernacular from the south that hasn't been used in years. And stutin is one of them. Yes I spelled it a variety of ways, cuz I really don't know how to spell it. hope this helps.
