  • Well done, loved it. Having found no sheet music of this particular John Williams piece, I self-taught myself how to play the theme...certainly not nearly as well as you have, sir. Great job.

  • @Koldeman Thank you - and congratulations on having taught yourself to play the theme by ear!

  • My favorite John Williams score played beautifully. Well done and thank you.

  • @hydrogenroar That's a really kind comment. Thank you!

  • One of my favourite songs but my parents didn't like me liking it because of the affair in the movie, lol! I was so young when this came out.....

  • @MsMicasaloca Thanks - I hope I did it justice for you!

  • Bravo! That was beautifully played.

  • @everydayprince Thanks - that's really kind!

  • Simply Beautiful !!

    Congratulations :-)

  • @YTfancol Thank you very much for that!

  • This is beautiful!! I am adding to my favorites

  • @Mariaottavia Thank you - I'm glad you liked it!

  • Beautiful tune! One of Willianms best, but only the musicians know that :)

  • @kingy1ful Thank you for that. It is also a particularly good published piano arrangement.

  • Lovely - just lovely. Thank you so much. (From one of my favourite soundtracks.)

  • @jetdeabq Thanks very much for that!

  • wow amazing!

  • @doublemgprod That's kind!

  • @bluoey Thank you! I must do some more John Williams pieces.

  • Magically Beautiful !! Encore, Encore!!!

  • Just wonderful. Love listening to your music while I'm at the computer working.

  • @pdanbridge Thank you - that's really kind!

  • Excellent! bravo!

  • Thank you!

  • How exquisite. You're performing the music that accompanies Macon attempting to leave Muriel a note bowing out of dinner (and her life). She saves him from drowning in his grief. And you've captured the sequence perfectly, even pausing at precisely the right "breaths" [Muriel removing her earrings before sliding angelically into bed beside Macon]. No film captures grief so effectively; I do hope Williams is remembered for his intimate scores like this one as well as his "Spielbergs." Thank you.

  • Thank you. This is one of the best arrangements of a Williams score that I have seen.

  • You are WONDERFUL!

  • That's really kind!

  • The best soundtrack ever¡¡¡¡¡ :-) I love your version¡

  • Thank you. This is a particularly good arrangement of a Williams theme.

  • What beautiful playing - articulations, dynamics, rhythm - just beautiful.

  • That's really kind of you - thank you!

  • I haven't heard this since I lost my cassette of the soundtrack. Thank you so much. Can you get the "Broadcast News" theme?

  • Thanks very much for your comment. I will certainly look out for the 'Broadcast News' theme - I am not sure if it has been published in a piano transcription.

  • Excellent job. I actually shared this sheet music with my daughter's piano teacher, and she was mystified trying to play it, so you did a fantastic job. I know this isn't an easy piece to play.

Of all of Williams' music, "Accidental Tourist" is one of my favorites.

  • Thanks for your most kind comment. The key to playing all these piano arrangements of film themes is to try to hear the original sountrack (OST) and imagine the orchestra as you play!

  • I would like to purchase a copy of this from you; this piano solo version. Or is this available commercially? Thank you so much. The music and the movie are wonderful. As is your playing. Thanks.

  • Thank you for your kind comment. I don't actually have the score of this - for the video I used a book I borrowed from my local library. I think it is called the 'John Williams Anthology', and is certainly commercially available. Try Amazon for it.

  • @ 1:51 Does anyone else hear shades of the theme from Schindler's List? I mean the second theme that comes in as it builds back up into the first theme everyone probably knows.

  • That's an interesting thought. I hear shades of 'Schindler's List' music in a lot of Williams' more lyrical passages. I guess that is his style, and to understand it it makes sense to listen to as much of his music as possible.

  • You play extremly good! I'm learning how to play the piano. I'm using these books called alfred and am in levle 5 at the moment, But you play very good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How long have you been playing? Well, I thought it was really cool!

  • Thank you for your kind comment, and sorry for the delay in replying. I'm glad you are learning to play the piano and I am sure you will get a lot of pleasure from it. I have been playing for over 45 years, and still enjoy it!

  • Wow! Well done! This is one of my favourite John Williams scores and certainly one of his most underrated.

  • Thanks - I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  • This is lovely, I'm such a BIG John Williams fan! And you do him so much justice!

I wander. Will you be able to play the 'Parade of the Ewoks' as it is such a nice piece and I agree with you... It's so much like Prokofiev... his 'March' from 'The Love Of Three Oranges' comes to mind!

    All the best, Lewis

  • Thank you for your kind comment Lewis. I did look at the published piano arrangement of the 'Parade', but as with all the published Star Wars arrangements from the early films the arranger was uninspired, and too much is left out. I believe there is a commercial recording of a French pianist who has made his own transcriptions of Star Wars themes - you may like to have a look at that!

  • I have a pdf document of a "symphonic suite" from Star Wars, the arrangement is closer to the orchestra version, if you want I could send it via email.

BTW, I loved your performances, I still have a difficult time with "The Accidental Tourist"

  • Thanks for your kind comment. I won't take up your kind offer for the time being, as I have probably recorded enough John Williams for the time being, and I know there is a commercial CD with another pianist's transcription of Star Wars items. It is interesting that this transcription (and the 'Presumed Innocent' piece which I have also recorded) are of a much better quality than the other published arrangements I have seen. They are printed in a different font to the Star Wars pieces.

  • Great stuff...really good piano you got there it kinda makes me miss playing myself...

  • Thank you! You should take up playing again - its never too late!

  • he looks like John :D

  • Cool, not exciting but a well rounded piece of music nevertheless.Jannarta.

  • Thank you - that's a fair comment.

  • Thank you!

  • Amazing how prolific he is. In my opinion, his sensitive music added a lot to the already many well-known movies. By the way, it sounds very good on the piano-solo. Thanks for uploading.

  • Thank you! I think Williams' music was a very major contributor to the success of the Star Wars movies, as he somehow gave the ridiculously costumed sci-fi characters the gravitas of participants in Wagnerian music dramas.

  • Never saw the movie

    Wonderful Music (:

  • Thank you!
