@treglit you can use clf's but your yield wont be as high as it would if it was hps. Normally if you use clfs you want them no more then 6inches away from your plants. and get 400watts cfl. .Nothing else
Try adding small reflective rings around your plants to reflect the light up underneath your plants. Conical in shape if you can manage. Same effect the stupid looking thing sunbathers use XD
as I look back through the length of when this was posted....not being mean but the plants are probably long gone or the rockwools have turned green good start but rw never sticks out of the rock.....
@jcast1976 your suppose to change it every 7-10 weeks and clean your tub out with hot water and clean it of any residue. Then place fresh ph leveled water and new nutrients.
Thanks for the vid. It was very informative and easy to follow. Your clones look fine. I have made a system like yours, after seeing your vid........i went out and built my system with confindence. Thanks heaps man!
haha love ur set up man, i have one pretty dam similar in the closet of my rented house also lol. And im sure u found out bubbleponics is the way to go!! n i actually juss got the same 150w hps but dam i wish it woulda costed me $50 lol, had to order it online so it was $80. Does it put out a lot of heat? or are u able to maintain the temp in the closet with it on?
nice setup, its better if you leave the drippers in the whole way through as they deliver nutes straight to the central roots, u might want to have the tubes go outside the box then go the plants as the roots will get caught up in them
Don't even trip. I had a friend a long time ago that was trying to tell me that his bud plant needed a heat lamp... he fucking cooked that shit in a couple hours. I tried to tell him...
@squrlking where did you buy plastic air pipes which is inside in basket and water compressor because I don't understand well when you talking in the video
Well ok so the nets should beeley touch well the bubles will pop and kinda create a lil mist right I saw some one put the whole clone 1" inch in the water what u think
Hey bro how high do I fill the water in the container, so tht when I lay the lid with my baskets were my clone goesI kno it won't drown or how do I kno it's done right
I filled it so the bottom of the net pots were just in the water. I thing at first its important to maintain that level, but once the roots are nice and developed, you can relax a little.
AWESOME setup bra everything looks geat, the only thing im ganna say is make sure you wash your hands and arms if your ganna stick your arm in. Ive killed a crop fuckin up like that.
I cant wait to see what you post next bra. Thanks for the entertainment!!! I love growing i have a few vids on my page too.
I think you should also get a fan to move some air around like the natural winds outdoors and it will also strengthen your branches for when the thick luscious buds come in!!
Awesome set up though man definitely looking for the next vid lets see how they have came along 5 stars
I burned my first batch with those lights too.. i was teen age...good enough exuse lol...anyways good video...better view and basic knowledge of how it works for newbie..good luck...:) im trying same methods
Do you always have your pump running nutrients to the plants all the time, or is it on a timer for X amount times a day? Otherwise this looks like a awsome way to grow.
I had the pump running constantly until the roots were in the water & thriving, and then I removed it completely. Also, I moved the tubes so they weren't directly flooding the rockwool, as per some advice from another youtuber. :D
oh yah btw u should switch to a 12 inch fizzer air stone instead of two 7 inch airstones the co2 is barely dissloving into the water nutrient solution its just evaporating into the air wasting the gases u need might aswell just take it out its not really doing anything upgrade to a 12 inch or 24 inc air stone fizzer
I just fill up every few days, using the ratio instructions on the nutes. Normally 1-3 gallons. I think there are quite a few grows using cfl, but you want to do your research so you get the right lights. google "cfl grow". As far as the water pump, i only ran it until the plants had a decent root system, then I removed it altogether.
Thanks! posting weekly was my plan, unfortunately my video camera took a shit, and like I said above, I can't afford anything right now. Hopefully I can trade for one soon. :(
hey i like your set up allot, looks like you did your research and picked the smarter idea rather then dropping 100 on thatstealth hydro kit thing. the only thing that im not sure if u no or not is i dont think u have quite enough light. what you have now looks good until those clones get a good root system going but i suggest you look in to a 250w-400w metal halide system. they will run you a good $200 or so but they putout 2x watts per lumen than CFLs. u will get a lot more bud. goodluck :]
Thanks! I think I'll try to get some better lighting next grow, but for now I'm much too poor to upgrade. I currently have a 150w hps & a 65w cfl (real, not equivalent). I've also done some LST so I can keep the light down close to all the budding sights.
yo i would watch out with the drip on top of your rockwool. i put mine under the rockwool so its sitting right ontop of the end where water is coming out. if you keep it the way you have it you run a high risk of stem rot and i have seen people have that kind of watering system and get that way to much. and i warned them too but they didn't listen. i just dont want to see another good set up and nice clones go to waste!!! so switch that shit up bro...!!!! hit me back in a email if you want!!!
Thanks for the tip! It seemed like a bad idea, but I'd seen other grows that had it. I'll definitely move the tubes. I'd also planned on taking out the water pump system entirely once the roots get down to the water.
u really dont need the water pump at all man. the cuttlings in this vid are definitely rooted already. u just need to bring your water level up to the bottom of the nets and keep it there, and the roots will grow down to it, guranteed. i usually wait until i can see a couple roots coming out, but i hav transplanted them before with out any trouble too. good setup tho man.
Glad I could be of any help. There are a couple grow sites that I got a ton of info from. Google "how to make a bubblponics system" or something, ton of good info!
im planning on making my own hydro setup similar to this, ive never done it b4 obviously and i have no idea what the difference between seeds and clones are? care to enlighten me?

so the roots are posta be submerged in the water...
for some reason, i thought the bubbles deliver the nutrient in the form of a mist to the roots, but then again what do i kno bout aeroponics.
dmellow45 2 years ago
this is slightly different than an aeroponics system, this is "bubbleponics" or deep water culture.
squrlking 2 years ago
so in aeropons, the roots are suspended above the water level...?
dmellow45 2 years ago
i believe so, yes. I can't be 100%, because I've never done aeropon.

i see, that just confused me a little bit, i thought i rememberd reading my facts from the growers bible or something, but i wasnt sure.

YES! especially with the cfl, they put out more heat than the HID lights. I currently have a pretty small fan, maybe 8", running continuously
squrlking 2 years ago
good shit serioulsy! but when do u know to add more solution in monthly??? can fluorescents work? how long is the pump on per day?
thanks
sparklerbombg 2 years ago
I just fill up every few days, using the ratio instructions on the nutes. Normally 1-3 gallons. I think there are quite a few grows using cfl, but you want to do your research so you get the right lights. google "cfl grow". As far as the water pump, i only ran it until the plants had a decent root system, then I removed it altogether.

dakin8888 2 years ago
I'm not an expert, this is my first grow, but the difference for me was ease of access. There are a few places to buy clones where I live, but I would have had to order seeds from seed banks overseas.
Growing wise, with clones you know the genetics, there's a %100 chance you'll have a female plant, which is what you want. Also, if everything goes smoothly, you cut a few weeks off growing time because you skip the gestation/seedling period.
hope that helps a little. :)
