Bill was saying that we kill those who "get it" and try to tell others about how things really are. Instead of fearing what they have to say we should try to embrace it. "Life is just a ride" means that all the things we worry so much about don't mean jack because we all die in the end and you might as well just enjoy the ride while it lasts.

If your a bit confused. Try reading Plato's analogy of the cave. It's pretty similar. Basically those that discover "the truth" try to tell other people and we "kill them" because what they're saying sounds ridiculous (although it maybe true). what he's trying to explain is that life is what you do with it, without hearing what other people say, making your own choices, no tv, no speeches, no politics. Who said Jesus did anything? Would a martyr of a religion commit genocide? Murder? Or, would he be an honest man of the people that always stood up for what was right? In my opinion, Jesus was a tale passed on from long ago. Bible: very good ideas behind it, very good metaphorical criteria, but the ideas were romanticized, poetic ideas inhereted from Egypt and maybe before. They wrote down the old tales with a 'new' twist. Christianity has a very symbolic and Astronomical background.
