The Lioness 'Dew claw' is attacked by a Hippo while hunting it. Dew claw suffers from a brain hemorrhage and a puncture on her neck where the hippos tusks pierced into her.

After a week Dew Claw makes a full recovery and brings down a Cape Buffalo.

Its an amazing story and it proves a Lion can survive a Hippo.

In this case its easy to guess that the hippo was either old or weak (disease or possibly an injury).

A healthy bull would of easily destroyed the two male lions.
