Can you imagine what would happen if Iron Man were usable and you stuck with him instead of switching to Doom? How do you think your series would have evolved?
I know you do these great videos and such but I was hoping it would be OK if I could ask if you could consider a video demonstrating weaknesses of each character some time? I ask cause you do show strengths and such but I need to find a way to get around spammers without having to spam Deadpool's Trigger happy to do so. I always play with deadpool just in case I find those spammers. You know who I mean right Max?
@Miles923 K! Max uh...I'm new to the TOW series and I was wondering what does BUFF and NERF mean since you've been using those in later TOW episodes. At least I now know what OTG means. XD
@SXL017 Buff means to make a character stronger and nerf means to make a character weaker. For example, if a move does 100k damage, but then they decide to patch the game and make it do 150k, that is a buff. Say they lower it to 50k though, and that is a nerf. It's not just damage though, many things can be buffed and nerfed, such as character speed or total amount of life. For instance, Sentinel's health was nerfed a lot in the original MVC3. It used to be over a million!
I love his pure power approach, but I do get owned online regularly, mainly because I suck, but mainly because I grew up with Namco fighters (Tekken, Soul Calibur) so I struggle from time to time to do the right moves and combos. I annoyingly use Akuma's Messatsu-Goshoryu hyper far too often because I'm not good at executing combos where direction is important, as a pose to button sequence.
Dropping Combos means messing up in a combo (either mistiming, wrong button input, or completely missing the hit) and the enemy gets the chance to block/attack again as shown at 8:41 . A RESET means that (by a specific, legal, yet hard to hit set up) you perform two combos back to back without the enemy snapping out mid-combo.
ok OTG means off the ground, like for example when wesker shoots the ground to get the enemy OFF THE GROUND to continue a combo shown at 0:40 . DHC means Delayed Hyper Combo which is the next characters hyper combo during the first character shown at 1:21. its called delayed because everything freezes except the incoming character while calling in the second hyper combo hence DELAYED. CROSS UP means when you confuse you opponent into which direction he should block as shown at 3:25 Your Welcome

hey max love the vids you might want to check out the ammy dead zones during her ookami to get past that... I also like to use dante wesker and deadpool and use dante crystal assist because it lures the opponent into a false opening while you get behind them but do you think his jam session is better.... random question fightstick or controller

I was wondering what your opinion is on people who sit on the edge of the map and just use ranged attacks. I've heard that Arthur can pretty much infinitely throw his torches and then use his super to just whittle people down at range.

the only question i looking for do diff characters have Diff HP lvs. sorry for noob question but i use to play mcv 1 (when i was a kid) missed 2. Im fairly casual player but im intrested in learning stuff from good players. The reason why im casual is cause i have dysprxia and cant relly control characters well but i enjoy the game :p.
This is great stuff! I'm very interested in why you kept Doom over Iron Man, I play them both but I'm not really liking Iron Man on point. Might just change him to Doom but I don't have an assist to help him keep away, except for Spencer's diagonal grapple, which isn't spectacular.
Amazing stuff, love the way you're playing all your characters, never seen such great gameplay via online, but good stuff. Your team synergy works out great too, although I have the same problem with dante too by doing jumping S ;;-_-
I never knew how good Wesker goes well with beam assists. I've been using Hulk - Doom - Wesker lately and I've never really practiced using Wesker with assists since I use him as an anchor. Good vid man, can't wait for more.

I always paired Dante with Wesker, and Iron Man is just hard to use and not very rewarding. I usually use Sentinel just because it's so easy.... Doom's rockets assist stay out too long for me

Max I gotta give you props. I've been watching your vids since the game came out. I use Wesker, Dante, and Trish and haven't even tried anyone else yet. I had an xbox until it took a dump on me like a month ago the day mvc3 came out I bought if for my xbox and it wouldn't play for longer than 3 minutes before if froze. But It let me play my other games until like a week later then it did the same thing to all my games. So now I play on ps3.

Good vid, yo. The only nitpick(?) I have is the nitpick I have with almost every MVC3 player, and that's with Amaterasu, but let's not even get into that. Hahaha
@Caliberchamp well, it depends on ur team setup, if you are playing a heavy rush down team (like having Wolvey-Akuma in ur team), then u might be better off getting a character that have OTG assist that allows u to relaunch when wolverine as point, rather then getting a High Health character (since they might be slow, and u kinda want fast character in certain teams.) Like clockw0rk has a Low health team of Ammy/Doom/Phenoix, or a team like Mag/Storm/Trish. But play to what fits ur style.
Your Plasma Beam didn't actually eat the first part of Okami Shuffle, it always whiffs at fullscreen like that as the flaming infinity sign does not reach that far.
oh one more thing, i love how when u get your opponent to one hit away from chip, u dont try to catch them with a special. instead u wait for them to tag out and u dash in and punish. I dont do that as often as i should and i really don't see a lot of pros play that safe. i mean u could easily combo the guy who tags in and snapback the other to guarantee that life loss. Really smart tactic on your part.
i really like your commentary and u seem like a genuinely nice guy when u explain your wins and losses. i'm raging hard all the time lol.
My first team was doom/dormammu/haggar but i've recently tried wesker/doom/haggar and hulk/doom/wesker. like your strategy and i need to incorporate the air throw in the corner when i know i can't get any more hits out of a combo because of hitstun. nice walkthroughs really enjoy it.
I actually play a team similar to yours, Wesker/Dante/Akuma. If youre searching for a 3rd you should try him out. Akuma's tatsu can be used in alot of the same situations as a beam assists, but it definitely only good for rushing down. He's extremely good as an anchor with x factor level 3 too imo, his towards+medium overhead can be converted to a full combo and creates some scary mix-up when hes by himself even.
Either way great vids, you're better than me but i'd love to do some games on XBL!
@DonkeyDisk I really need to expand my character skill set, and working on this video series over time will allow for that. There's quite a few other characters I want to get to learn. Thanks for the advice and praise.
@Miles923 I agree w/ trying out Akuma. He has the best 3rd in the game, imo, and he's one of the few w/ an infinite combo.
As for Wesker, he's definitely a staple in my team as well. It was hard to use him at first, but after 100+ games w/ him he grows on you... and I'm still learning how to play w/ him as well.
@dbass29 Worry not, they're definitely in the works. More along the lines of mid to high end skill tutorials as well, since you can find the basics on sites like SRK.

@AssassinLightX To be honest, Iron Man's got some really amazing stuff, however...it's near impossible to pull off online. Some of the most sensitive timing combo's I've run into thus far. I'll be making later character breakdown videos and will be sure to include IM.
Really good stuff, I know I played a ranked match against you and you destroyed me. Only tip I would offer is that the audio commentary seems to be a good 1~2 seconds ahead of the video (spoilers!).

the only question i looking for do diff characters have Diff HP lvs. sorry for noob question but i use to play mcv 1 (when i was a kid) missed 2. Im fairly casual player but im intrested in learning stuff from good players. The reason why im casual is cause i have dysprxia and cant relly control characters well but i enjoy the game :p.

This is great stuff! I'm very interested in why you kept Doom over Iron Man, I play them both but I'm not really liking Iron Man on point. Might just change him to Doom but I don't have an assist to help him keep away, except for Spencer's diagonal grapple, which isn't spectacular.

I never knew how good Wesker goes well with beam assists. I've been using Hulk - Doom - Wesker lately and I've never really practiced using Wesker with assists since I use him as an anchor. Good vid man, can't wait for more.

I always paired Dante with Wesker, and Iron Man is just hard to use and not very rewarding. I usually use Sentinel just because it's so easy.... Doom's rockets assist stay out too long for me

Max I gotta give you props. I've been watching your vids since the game came out. I use Wesker, Dante, and Trish and haven't even tried anyone else yet. I had an xbox until it took a dump on me like a month ago the day mvc3 came out I bought if for my xbox and it wouldn't play for longer than 3 minutes before if froze. But It let me play my other games until like a week later then it did the same thing to all my games. So now I play on ps3.

Anyhow, great video, I like the post commentary as it allows you to give a lot more insight after looking over the match, I think. I'm still horribly sucking at this game (taking a break for a bit from it now before I break my 360), I've been getting absolutely *killed* online and dropping very basic combos I know work offline... anyhow, looking forward to more, gotta' get my game up!

@Caliberchamp well, it depends on ur team setup, if you are playing a heavy rush down team (like having Wolvey-Akuma in ur team), then u might be better off getting a character that have OTG assist that allows u to relaunch when wolverine as point, rather then getting a High Health character (since they might be slow, and u kinda want fast character in certain teams.) Like clockw0rk has a Low health team of Ammy/Doom/Phenoix, or a team like Mag/Storm/Trish. But play to what fits ur style.

can anyone suggest how i would go about practicing those corner resets with wesker. like the one where he tried to air grab hulk and he teched it.
i think i tried it in training mode and i just get a jumping C or perhaps i am doing it wrong. i use taskmaster's arrows after the OTG by the way.

oh one more thing, i love how when u get your opponent to one hit away from chip, u dont try to catch them with a special. instead u wait for them to tag out and u dash in and punish. I dont do that as often as i should and i really don't see a lot of pros play that safe. i mean u could easily combo the guy who tags in and snapback the other to guarantee that life loss. Really smart tactic on your part.

My first team was doom/dormammu/haggar but i've recently tried wesker/doom/haggar and hulk/doom/wesker. like your strategy and i need to incorporate the air throw in the corner when i know i can't get any more hits out of a combo because of hitstun. nice walkthroughs really enjoy it.

I actually play a team similar to yours, Wesker/Dante/Akuma. If youre searching for a 3rd you should try him out. Akuma's tatsu can be used in alot of the same situations as a beam assists, but it definitely only good for rushing down. He's extremely good as an anchor with x factor level 3 too imo, his towards+medium overhead can be converted to a full combo and creates some scary mix-up when hes by himself even.
Either way great vids, you're better than me but i'd love to do some games on XBL!

@Miles923 I agree w/ trying out Akuma. He has the best 3rd in the game, imo, and he's one of the few w/ an infinite combo.
As for Wesker, he's definitely a staple in my team as well. It was hard to use him at first, but after 100+ games w/ him he grows on you... and I'm still learning how to play w/ him as well.

@AssassinLightX To be honest, Iron Man's got some really amazing stuff, however...it's near impossible to pull off online. Some of the most sensitive timing combo's I've run into thus far. I'll be making later character breakdown videos and will be sure to include IM.
