I've never heard of glazing putty before. I know of welding and fiberglassing. Mud/Filler. and also products that neutralize rust etc etc.. but i've never heard of a glazing putty. Is that common? seems like you should be able to get things nice with just spending time sanding your bondo. Also sanding the primer i guess too.
I dont' know much about this, hence why i'm on here watching this. But this just doesn't seem right. Theres basic things that just do not seem correct on this. Out of this I would like to see where to get info that is really good. And also how this video is bad. Other than the usual "Half ass job". I get that. I mean it looks like he has no goal with this. But i'm not sure specifically what is bad information. Or is he just not putting any love into it? Thanks.
These are good videos for the do it yourselfer that can't afford a better body job. I have done body jobs with fiberglass instead of metal right in the driveway. Sure it doesn't last as long as metal but its a cheap way for you to be on the road and looking good for hardly any money.
its a good starter video, gives you the basic idea of how to do repairs, but actual hands on(practice on a junk car) is the best way to learn, and yes buying a used body part would be way cheaper than buying bondo products to fix a dent
I bought this video at auto zone and threw it in the trash. I could not bear to see how crapy a job this guy was doing .I collect videos but this I had to throw it away it was so awful. his basic ideas are ok but for real this is such a hack job it made me laugh. come on man using a drill to sand bondo and a rattle can for cheap primer that crap would not last any time
while the bondo sets up,,,,1.you read a book.2.you call your wife and remember her you love her.3.you eat a dozen of donuts and wash them down with a coke.
where can i get all this materials?

Hmm no guide coat on the primer. Your not instructing professionals you tool.
darter1075 3 years ago
Not to mension that for what you spent in "Bondo" products you could have bought a nice used fender from a salvage yard.

I keep laughing when he says he's going to sand an area. I expect to see a sanding block, but instead he busts out a huge electric drill. XD

This guy must have the worst spray painting technique I've ever seen. Other than that seems okay.

If I wanted to make 3D flames on my car, could I use Bondo to accomplish this, by building up layer after layer?
