  • She's wonderful, but what a pity there isn't one of the whole aria!

  • Why is it in E-E-E-nglish?

  • @ernestalba

Well, why not...? The original wasn't in english, that's fine and dandy, but the translation came within a few years of the first performance! Like with most shows, it is in English, too, and if that bothers you, then don't click on the links with the English title of the song. :/

  • @wiinter1: It was a joke - quite a bad one, actually, looking back now.

  • @ernestalba Oh. Sorry, then! :D

  • I would love to see the whole clip!!

  • I wish I was there, too!!!!!! Gosh! It must have been fantastic!

  • An aria is the point in the opera where the plot stops and the main character sings about a deep emotion or situation. It is equal to a solo. :)

  • FABULOUS!!!

  • oh man, I wish the whole thing was here!!! This is great!

  • Wonderful.... I really love this aria..

Great interpretation, and wow! amanzing soprano.

    Brava!

  • ok this might sound like a dumb question, but what is an aria? I've heard the term used a lot and i've always felt stupid asking.

  • technically: a song from an opera. altho die fledermaus is classified as an operetta.

  • It's a solo (often flashy) that an opera singer sings in an opera.
