Jesse said he was just a "glorified welder" ! I say he is no such thing. Look at that shitty looking weld @ 1:38. Really ? And he calls himself a welder ? Go be a pipe welder for a few years and pass some x-ray tests then call yourself a welder. That bubblegum looking shit would get you laughed at in most circles. Notice all the grinding he does in this video ? He can't use a torch either !
If hes used to going from scratch though he should make his own frame with similar features. He could just give it his own twist to fit his ideas. Don't take an existing frame and chop it, just make your own imo
Dam,his welds look like hammered on dog shit,I need to teach Jesse how to Tig weld,I use to build aluminum fuel cells for inside passenger Jet airplane wings,
It was so strict, there was a piss test before work every monday morning,I was the best in the shop.
Thats becuase hes not an artist just a fantastic fabricater and builder. conversley there are alot of guys who are ok at building but have a gift for vision. Seeing the bike around the frame geometry. So your better off just perfecting your fabrication and taking chances and learning from failures like in this instance. Eventually if your hot shit at your own style and people want it your rich enough to fuck around with time and parts to experiment like this.
@tdsviper i think he made it longer so its ridable with a half deacent engine for a implant instead of having to baby it all the time to get it to go.
@tdsviper I think he said he only made it a few inches longer. Jesse is a big dude, the guy who originally built it may have been smaller. I think he only modified it to accommodate his size.
at 5:00 it shows where he cut a piece out of that tube and welded in a piece - i dont like that - looks weak as fuck - seen that sorta thing done before on occ - Jessie is the man tho hes a fucking genius - cool bikes
It kind of reminds me of mountain bikes. A lot of the old d.i.y. bikes like a Cunningham or a Salsa have a cool vibe to them and even new builders like Curt Inglis of RetroTech makes some bad ass bikes. Then big companies got involved. Then the became a commodity and the yuppie jerk faces came in.
Fortunately most of the posers sold their bikes after their first crash. But there's always a new crop. Keep it real, ride steel.
okay yuppies did you hear him it came from a do it yourself era not buy it yourself era this is what seperates the men from the boys hard work and detication

I'm thinkin he cut that nice frame in the rear because he's taller than the original builder? Maybe it fits him better now.

Jesse is a awsome bike builder. I like the aggresive bikes he makes.
But in this build, i think he's wrong.
In the beginning he talks about the sweet lines of the frame and how the original builder made a beautiful frame.
Then he chops it up ????
To make it fit his vision. I think he should have left it alone and worked with it, as is.

@tdsviper he really didnt chop it up that much it was more of an extension because he wanted to keep the lines of the frame but make it longer

@tdsviper I could not agree more. Its was extremely sad to see that old chop frame be chopped.
BikerRussell 10 months ago
@tdsviper all he did was make it a few inches longer. The lines are pretty much the same as they were when he started.
