@adguerra9 do a little research ccr is a is a modular ford v8 koenigsegg used the ford 4 valve in the early cars they produced. one of them being the ccr. the cc8s is a koenigsegg built v8 based on the same achitecture as the ford v8. im not saying a stock 4.6 is used in the ccr, but it is the ford engine.

a few people are asking why they havent maxed a ccxr and many other of these 250mph hypercars and 1500hp tuners its because its realy hard to make the tyres(expensiveUS$40k GBP£25k)! the weakest bit of car tech we have is tyres...veyron tyres where specialy made by (Michelin Pilot Sport Pax System 245-690 R520 A (front) and 365-710 R 540 A (rear) tyres) to hold together under massive radial g and all the other forces and temperatures at 250mph and be ROAD LEGAL...

I guess that's logical to not let your rivals into the game but also pretty sad since now it's just a question of how much you own and how much money you have, and not how fast the car you're producing is :/

This car is theoretically able to hit 260 mph ... I'm sure you could push the car a little bit farther ... I mean why do you think bugatti got the top speed up to 267 and not 270 ... it was probably struggling to stay at that speed ... but I feel that if you had the perfect test road, perfectly smooth in a place with virtually no wind resistance then a car could probably be pushed a little more ... but we are limited by our environment so aerodynamics are key to be the top car in the world

this DID NOT beat the mclaren. the mclaren f1 did 391kmh. the ccr never topped that. The average of 386kmh (240mph) is lame. Two runs from both directions, come on, ehra is completely flat. and as for the wind, well within the hour guiness said you need to conduct both runs, it cud have changed direction a dozen times.

then theres , LOCATION , read temperature , wind resistance, grip, stability, tarmac....... they might as well make it compulsory for all records to be on ehra.

actually the CCXR is even slower than the CCX bcuz of the large wing it has. The wing creates drag which slows the car down. That's why the veyron's wing is pulled down into the car once it passes about 220mph, bcuz the drag of the wing slows it down. The CCXR should beat the veyron on some small and tight tracks bcuz the CCX w/ a small wing did @the top gear track by .5sec or something even though the veyron had a bad run, the CCXR has a larger wing, therefore handles better in corners

The wing creates DOWNFORCE.. not drag. Both slow the car down. By the way.. on a track the Koenigsegg would win over a Bugatti any day. The Koenigsegg has got a higher power output to its weight and its made for racing. Which the Bugatti isnt. The Bugatti is THE pinacle of automotive engineering but its not best at every single little detail. Forexample the Chrysler voyager has more cupholders than the Veyron. Imagine.. all that money and not enough cupholders. A scandal !!

well you're right but anything at all even the mirror's that are attached to the car will cause drag. it's faster on the track IF you can handle it, even on Top Gear somebody lost control of it trying to put up a decent time but that was without the wing. The veyron isn't the best in every respect but I like that you're admitting it's engineering excelence. They're all great supercars, I like them all except the SSC Aero, that things a glorified kit car if you ask me. Veyron, CCX, & F1 r my fav

Oh god.. the SSC.. dont get me started on that. Its trying to fake its way into supercar stardom by fitting a huge engine to.. stuff and going fast in a straight line. The whole SSC thing started out as an american Lambo Diablo replica kit car believe it or not. Which is why it looks like a 1990s Diablo.. only 1990s Diablos were pretty. Do NOT confuse this single purpose SSC monstrosity with the real thing. Its as fake and useless as the recent american Nurburgring lap times.

haha yea I knew about the diablo replica's they used to do. That's the same way I feel, you can't put the SSC in the same category. They did what they had to just to make it a production car but I've seen kit cars that were higher quality. I kinda like the ACR Viper but I totally know what you mean by fake and useless. Well.. Im not american but Ive had my time with euro sportscars and my family collect american classic muscle so Ive seen both sides of the fence. The ACR looks cool but its a racecar with numberplates. Produced to go fast on Nurburgring to generate some hype to sell their normal Vipers.. which arent that spectacular. Nissan, Corvette, Viper, Cadillac all produced misleading lap times with full factory race teams and ultra modified vehicles. No way in hell a showroom car can match those times.

I love this car for the same reasons i love the Veyron. Its quality. The SSC is faster on top speed but inferior in build quality, if your were to drive the Koenigsegg and Bugatti at max speed until the fuel ran out you ears wouldnt bleed and all the body panels would still be in place. Im sorry to say that the same quality is not in the SSC.

Thats where your wrong.

The original Koenigsegg CC8S that clarkson drove was the first production model, so they were still fiddling around with it.

The CCX he tested a few years later (and the stig crashed) was in exactly the same state, the first production model, set up for top speed, not handling.

The 'Top Gear Wing' addition to the car only takes half a second from the lap, its the tuning of the suspension and brakes that made the other 2 seconds : )

Suspension can only do so much for the handling. The CCX has no downforce so no matter how much power it has, it's not putting as much as it could to the ground. With the addition of the wing the car is pressed down into the road more which allowed The Stig to put in a faster lap time. More downforce also helps improve braking as well.

Bugatti veyron becomes " a snail " because it can only do a -electronically limited- top speed of 407 kmh.. Right. Anything above 300 becomes academical and theoretic and only drooling teenagers argue on the net about how this car is faster than that one. No person will EVER max out the speed in their Koenigsegg or Veyron on normal roads. Same goes for 95% of cars that can do 200 mph or more. At that level its all about how good it looks and whether or not its a good car to live with.

the SSC Aero hasn't got the Leather and the Luxury, build quality, and luxurious materials as the Veyron does. If the Veyron used the same Materials and no Radio, A/C or heater, CD player, etc., it would be faster than the Aero by alot.
