Stupid fucking vid of the fan-oique wasted my time. REAL Alt. ending was Tony watching the guy at the counter hit the head. Tony says "I gotta hit the john" as he heads in he grabs a metal napkin dispenser off an empty table. He enters bathroom and faces the mirror with his back to the stalls. He sees in the mirror, counter guy exit stall pull a gun he swings around decks him with napkin disp, pushes him back into stall and beats his head in with the ND. He cleans up and goes back and sits down.

The ending was fine. And Tony didn't die because he wasn't shown dying. It's a writ of passage that writers can use. It's been done before in many stories. If the main character does not die within the story he/she lives on. Period. Thats it. Whatever idea you have is second to the fact

We didn't watch the Sopranos through Tony's eyes. He was just the main character. There is a big difference. Your idea of him dying is nothing more than an OPINION. There can never be a fact of what happened because the writers left the ending in our hands. Not until they tell us what happened can we prove any ending.

If so, I do know that there is a metaphor in her parking attempts...Previously in the Sopranos there was two failed attempts at killing Tony; hence the failed parking attempts. Most of us don't want to think there is a clear cut answer to Tony - did he die and we aren't supposed to know? Or so we were led to question. David Chase is more clever than that. Do you remember once Bobby asked Tony "When you're shot in the head do you feel anything" Tony: "No, everything just goes black".
