well i personally think vw is boring, like the vr6 it didnt really tell u its a vr6 it just felt like i was driving a normal golf with a big engine, and later the gti turbo that i owned how can it have a turbo and it still accelerates slower than most cars, they just have that dull factor everone thinks im just obsessed with bmw but now i own a skyline and trusttt me, its a brillliant car!

drifting is only done with a RWD car, what you are doing is called handbrake turn don't get it confused 2 very different things

I do these things regularly on roundabouts... With a Gti 8v... You cán drift with FWD:

Go on a roundabout, steer, put your 'pedal to the metal', keep steering untill the cars back is breaking out, then turn your steer the other way, and keep your 'pedal to the metal'... Then you'll drift!!!

But he's using the handbrake, indeed :P

what you said certainly makes sense in a RWD car, but my experience with FWD cars is UNDERSTEER the condition in which the front wheels of a car don't follow the desired curve while cornering, instead following a more straight line trajectory

This is lift off oversteer which you can get on a FWD car, particularly if the suspension has been altered from the neutral standard set up. I had a Mk3 Fiesta with sports suspension and it would do this. Power into a corner, push the front wide (understeer) and then hard off the pedal will snap the front back in line and then bring the back out. Much harder to predict RWD oversteer and very hard to get a car to drift this way before it either spins out, or corrects itself as the car slows down

well maybe theres some hope, i enjoy my oversteer but since ive bout my vr6 obviously FWD not really as much fun, i was thinking to get it changed 2 4WD u no nefin bout dis??? if i can use the 4motion drive system from the mk4 or maybe audi quattro?

Wouldn't be an easy conversion as the later Golf is longer and wider. You'd need to cut out the original floorpan to allow room for the driveshaft to the rear axle and put in a new one. You'd need to bring all that across from a donor vehicle and get lots of custom made parts.

Thats not drifting, its powersliding as it isn't rear wheel drive! I love doing this in my golf!! :)
