Hello guys, im havin some truble, and i have been searchin everywhere resultless. How are these videos recorded in FSX? I know how to make one using the "alt" menu in flight but it's akward, the video quality is very poor and you can't watch it anywhere but in the sim. I have tried using the "video record start/stop" but it doesn't seem to work. How is this done?

does any one out there n=know how i can fix this problem?
why doesnt this game work on my computer?? i have a q6600, 8800gts, 2GB ram....and the graphics are horrible, even on high!1 someone please tell me??? btw nice vid! =)
fsx is one one of the most demanding games on the market right now, so unless you have a 3-5 thousand dollar system its not going to run all that well
i guess it is a month later now but a $2200 computer with a decent dual core cpu and a 8800 ultra with run your fsx at ultra high settings. quad core is a big waste of money at the moment and dose not help fsx at all. the core 2 duo at 3.0 ghz is a great cpu for the fsx world.
Your graphics card is a weak link here. But of course, FSX really is taxing on any hardware, and especially taxing on the CPU. So don't expect miracles. It might run a little better on XP I suppose. But I'm a little afraid to give advice around FSX since everything about FSX and hardware is a little...floaty...
Thats awesome. What I dont understand is, I've been playing fs9 since it came out, and i just got FSX, and my computer setup is far meeting the requirements, and is even higher than yours, but i still run really choppy. AMD 4400+, 2GB RAM, Nvidia 8600
Yeah, sometimes hard to fly these things. But it sure helps with a flightstick and a throttle system. I used Saitek X-45 when flying the helicopter in this video.
I had full crash simulation on, yes. I brushed the ground a couple of times, but I didn't crash during the single flight I did for this video. ...I guess I was lucky ;)
FSX relies more on the processer. If you want to upgrade get more RAM and maybe the graphic card. However, if you have the money I would suggest a new computer.
New Everything, most importantly a new motherboard to accommodate your upgrades as your old one probably wont handle a new processor, new processor (unless you mean its a 64bit 3.0Ghz one.new DDR2 RAM (make sure its compatible with your new motherboard. new graphics card, better case for cooling (if you haven't got one)
The first bunch of times I flew a chopper I hated it. I couldn't keep it in the air for very long. But it's really neat once you get the hang of it. It just takes more practise and patience than the other aircraft.
This video was recorded with a head tracking device (TrackIR) which orverrides the FSX camera. But yes; FSX's camera does react to g-forces as default, which helps immersion.
Service Pack 1 with performance tweaks and other stuff will be released from MS in early April, so watch out for that one. Other than that, FSX performs pretty good at low level flying with small aircrafts and helicopters, and not so well with heavy aircrafts which pulls a lot of processor power.
Also try some tweaks for performance which you can find help and hints for if you search in google for f.ex. "fsx performance tweaks". I have heard that some people are having a little problem with performance with FSX on Vista too, but I don't know much about it. Anyway, good luck, I hope you get it to run a little better eventually.
great specs!! Looks so smooth. If i buy a dual core 1.66 GHZ processor and 2 gig of RAM with a Nvidia 7800, will it run fsx smooth on full settings?? Please tell me(by PM or here)
That's the thing about FSX; It's hard to predict how well it will run. It runs well with simpler aircrafts and low level flying. But can run badly with heavy aircrafts and more complex scenery. But Microsoft has promised that they are soon coming with a performance patch for FSX, so let's hope it will improve on some things things, maybe even have better dual-core performance which it today doesn't fully support, FSX is a processor hog and needs that patch badly.
if copdoctor comment is right, i just need some RAM to play. FSX is amazing, nearly won one of the first games out at a Red Bull Airrace event... :( got beat by a few secs though...
