i'm unclear on the rules now... i've competed both WKF and IPPON kumite, and in IPPON, if you land a kick to the body that drops your opponent, you win (at least in the competitions i competed in), because dropping your opponent equals 2 wazaris or 1 IPPON... i've seen many fights won this way in ippon

I know WKF is different, and the last WKF comp I was in, my student kicked an opponent to the body and dropped him, he was down for a bit... but my student got awarded 2points i believe...

i believe the new rule is the balance point must be below the waist, so there cannot be any more of the high, shoulder throws.

@roathryder1 Hahaha, you're right man, he was disqualified, my bad, thought this was the fight where he fought With Housein Rouhani From Iran. Was using my Iphone when i was checking this video out... Serkan look like Housein... Serkan is not a bad fighter too... Thought this was the Haldun Alagas Sports Complex, and i got the year wrong as well... I was at the International Istanbul Karate Championship and it was in 2006. this is embarrassing man... Sorry for the mistaken comments. hehehe...

I have a question about the wkf rules. Are the fighters allowed to use tetsui uchi (hammer punch) on top of the head ?? to score an ippon? if so why dont people use it ?

aghayev wont be beat for many years, because he's aghayev, most of his takedowns are ileagal in wkf, but he will score them, because he's him.

@harroc123 All his takedown's are legal. Everything below shoulder throw (so up to hip throw) is pretty much legal in WKF as long as the throw is controlled

It's a strong point the doctor made. If he received a strong blow he shouldn't fight anymore. To my eyes if you slowed it down his arm was in the way of the mawashi so it look like his right arm pop out of joint. So he shouldn't fight anymore because the injury was due to raphael going in and not blocking...and could become much worse if he continues to compete

But like many Euro and some Asian karate-ka, there's much "flopping" on the tatame. I don't doubt that he was hurt but you have to take much of this with "a grain of salt". Soccer players do the same thing.

Seeing Ahayev kneel like that is kinda sad. He is one of the best in the world. Better to wacth in person. But he loss far and sqaure.

as I understand many have problem withe the last part.

1-YAGCI kicked

2-AGHAYEV went down for more then 10 second (gave is over at this point now waiting for judgement of referee.)

3-kick was over powered remember it is point karate

4-YAGCI lost two point for that kick

5-AGHAYEV lost because of that more then 10 second on the mat

but if he had more point he could get the game.

Yagci (the guy in red) was clearly the winner, Aghayev lost fair and square and the kick was to his body and it did not hit his groin he is such a faker, Aghayev is a drama queen he over exaggerates everything, he can give a punch but he can't take one it's pathetic.

I dont get the final judgement :S Ethier did red kick too hard or blue did fake. Yet both got a faul :S  Rafael wasn't a big fav. but he got cheated for a lot of points!
