Both albums are quite good. Contraband is a much darker album than Libertad was. Libertad actually turned out to be a bit like a long love song. If you look closely, nearly every song on the album is about love of all different sorts. Slash has become better with the whammy bar. I found a lot of his playing with the whammy bar in Guns to be hit and miss a lot of the time. But he seems like he's gotten a lot better with it.
