still miss this walkway with a busker used to play music in it hehe, to be honest the new crossing is crap, last time i was there the lights never changed stayed on red so people had to dodge the traffic, i was still at woolies and took a few last looks at it b4 it was boarded off.
Oh wow - that's fascinating (honestly!) Like the spirit of the walkway is angry... (actually that was a bizarre comparison, sorry). I never did work out why they were chipping all the tiles off the walls if they were just filling it in, though.
Good clip,it was a nice feature of the town.I had a similar idea for the civic hall which is now being demolished not sure if i could get up close thou due to barriers etc.Great clip:-D
Thank you. I've just noticed it's now a year ago today I filmed this, so that makes it over a year since it was closed to the public. It still seems odd thinking this no longer exists and is now all filled in.
Thanks for this clip. I have walked through here countless times in my life. Shame to see it will be filled in. Do you know the reason as to why this is happening? Im guessing it has something to do with the regeneration project taking place in town? Is it still open to the public or has it been completed yet? I would love to walk through one final time...
Hi. I shot this a month ago and they were already dismantling it. I had to get official permission to film it and was accompanied by the contractors as I did it. It was already closed by then. I'm afraid it's now filled in - gone forever. It was defunct because of the pedestrian crossing. They are enlarging that and laying out a public area (they claim it'll be green, but we'll see).
ahh shame, i liked walking through there, with the pictures on the tiles.

It wasn't you that filmed the closure of Woolies, was it? Small world if so. Which busker do you mean? Mr NO WOMAN NO CRY / GET UP, STAND UP?
