Never choose a gun with math(damage, recoil, rate of fire, etc.)try all of them, and pick witch suits your gamestyle...i have not used the AK47 for 7 prestige cause it wasnt a popular gun, so i thought it really sucks...on 8. prestige i decided to try it...since then is my most used weapon...and im much more satisfied with a 38-29 with the AK, then a 35-6 with the ACR...

THE only problem I have with this gun, is the fact that it's damage is pathetic.

Every other AR kills with 3 hits from close (yeah ok FAD doesn't). My main problem is indeed the fact that it has all these drawbacks and no advantages, except longer 3-hit kill range, which is nullfied by the fact that it has the recoil. Not to mention, it shoots slower than most AR's.

It just has bad sides, sadly so. I love AK too and it was my favourite gun in the other CoD games. But not in this one.

I use this gun because of the sights and the recoil. This and the MP7 has the same sights/recoil that I love.

subbed cause i absolutely love the ak47. ive used it so much and gotten so comfortable with it that i actually dont even run kick anymore. ive found focus to be the best proficiency to use with it because as you mentioned it has a lot of power and focus really helps in getting all your bullets on target while taking fire at any range. i run SoH, Quickdraw (cant stand the slower aim speed, plus i love throwin out c4s quick), and Marksman w/ suppressor.

this is how I feel about the AK 74M in BF3. Not many people use it with its high recoil and slower fire rate, but with the right set up and burst fire it is a BEAST!

To me, the MW2 AK47 was the best iteration of the AK47 out of all the COD's that have included it. It just felt like a beast to me. Then again, I love any type of kalashnikov type weapons in the COD series. I love the AK47, the 74U, the dragunov, the RPK, and the RPD ( I know it's not a kalashnikov, but it reminds me of one)

I swear I just use dthe exact same set up right before watching this and I was raping kids with it. I never really liked the mw3 ak until I found this combination. I think that using LMGs then using this gun helps a lot too though because you get used to high recoil and the ak feels natural afterwards.

Swordsman, did you ever try ACOG on the AK47? You have to concentrate and counter-aim the recoil, but it is effective. Any setup, really, requires "taming" the gun.

i agree, as a fan of the AK in all CODs, and i have gold in mw3 and cod 4 it is definetly a gun worth trying, if not using all the time because once you get used to the recoil and whip a silencer on that bad boy youre gonna be a machine :P

I like the g36. Kills quick and has recoil. The ACR is a little ridiculous. It wasn't that bad in MW2 but now it seems a little bit OP.

AK-47 my favorite weapon in mw2, black ops and mw3. The recoil and iron sights are fine, only pussies can't handle the manliness of the ak-47. My set up for my golden ak-47 is kick with extended mags. When leveling up this beast, i run it completely naked. I don't like the surpressor on it.

Hey Swords, I still haven't made the jump to MW3 from Battlefield yet, and I have high hopes for the upcoming patch this month to fix a lot of the issues with the game. In the mean time, I have gone back to playing a little BC2. I haven't played a COD game since COD4 however, and I was wondering what being a total noob in COD would be like as there have been so many changes.

How hard was your transition to COD, and would you recommend the switch?

I loved the AK-47 in previous games, but I'm just not feeling it in Mw3. The only thing that makes me want to use it is that it accually feels like a real wepond and not som laserpointer plastic wepond. But the silencer takes that raw feel out of it and without the silencer it is a pain to use in this game... The iron sights are still as wonderful as before though :)

I found the ACR to take a very substantial amount of time to kill, I like the gun in the right situations (shooting at people not shooting back) but in gunfights I've found it to actually be very weak. I like the AK47 though, I miss the days of rocking a naked AK47 with Red Tiger, Double Tap and Steady Aim in CoD4.

With reference to it being scary to level stuff up, with the weaker weapons this is so true! LMGs with Grip + Rapid Fire, Shotguns with Range/Damage proficiencies etc.

It is one of the slowest killing guns in the game. It has a bit of kick but why use a gun that has recoil when you Can use a gun that has less kick and kills faster

I've used this gun before and got it to gold. Wow this gun is a beast. i usually use focus ,but kick works too. I've used a prestige token for it. You just gotta try this gun out and really feel it.

The reason the AK47 isn't as good as previous games, is because every gun has a lot of damage.. and the damage of the AK47 is 49. previously that would help. but since every gun kills in around 3/4 bullets, it doesn't do anything... it really sucks.

@NekrusRegret not true. just like the ACR and CM901, the AK kills in 2 shots where 1 is a headshot. However, it has the highest effective range of all automatic weapons, meaning you'll do maximum damage at a longer distance.

The AK47 is not the same as previous games, where it had, BY FAR, more damage.

@NekrusRegret what you are describing is minimum damage. eventhough the acr has higher min. damage than the AK, the AK has a much longer max damage range (i.e. the distance at which your weapon deals max damage) than the ACR. Does that mean it's necessarily better than the ACR? Ehhh, that's for you to decide. I personally prefer the feel of the AK, I feel like I can score headshots much easier with it.
