We condemn Hitler for genocide while don't realize that Obama is no better. Hitler killed adults which in some way could protect themselves while Obama with his agenda kills helpless children. May he reap what he sows.
Wow--There was a huge Pro-life movement in New York in the early seventies (prior to Roe v Wade) NY was one of the first states to legalize abortion. This is not even an accurate history of the movement. The "right to Life" party has a much older history than this.
It is sad to think how we sat quiet for so long and let an entire generation of Americans be slaughtered. Having read these comments, I find it even sadder how hateful they are that we have finally awakened and have begun to come together and fight for LIFE. No more murdering our preborn babies. Russia is running scared over their declining population. Is that what it will take to wake up the American people?
@KatyKane Russia's declining population is not a reason for outlawing abortion. There are several factors that go into population dynamics, not just birth control.
Finally, a movie exposing how deep MEN are involved in the movement to control the reproductive rights of women.
Funny seeing MEN complaining about being spit on for marginalizing and dehumanizing women, seeking to reduce their role in society to broodmare to any male that mounts her, whether she consents or not.
You aren't going to end abortion by trying to control women. Actually help make society better, making abortion obsolete. But, it's more about control than really ending abortion.
There is one fact they get right in this film: when Roe vs. Wade was first decided there was very little outcry from religious institutions. It wasn't until the religious right gained such power over DC that abortion became a hot button issue. Why? Because they knew that issue could bring in votes.
It's a known fact that countries where abortion is illegal (such as the ones in Latin America) have an abortion frequency just as high as the USA and other Western countries.
The most ironic part about this is, in countries which are practically socialist in their economies (Denmark, for example) the abortion rate is very small. I wonder why?
@CCard83 "Women are more than chattel [in Latin America]." Really? Is that why most Latin American nations have had at least one female head of state, whilst America STILL hasn't (despite having a lengthier democratic tradition.) Or what about Arroyo in the Phillipines, a female head of state in a nation with tight, pro-life laws. Yes, it's the pro-life movement keeping women down in America, isn't it? Give me a break.
@Roboboogey1990 I said look at the Latin American countries IN QUESTION, meaning, the ones that have extremely high rape, incest and child pregnancy rates and total bans on abortion. There's a clear lack of respect and value for females in those countries. No breaks are to be given for your stupidity.
Roe vs Wade was decided during the term of a Republican president 7 to 2 by the Burger court, one of the most conservative courts in the late 20th century. Three of the justices that Nixon appointed voted for it.
I've always figured that the main reason the ruling class is against reproductive freedom is because having the working class reproduce uncontrollably will bring about more wage slaves for the elite corporate bosses to exploit in the future. Why do you think it is that they always target Planned Parenthood and not private OBGYNs? Because PP performs abortions mostly on working class women too poor to afford healthcare, that's why.

Look at the Latin American countries in question. The Church is the law and women are little more than chattel. It's about control.

Most of those countries are also ruled by right-wing dictators supported by the US. Sad.
