People are saying its because its a disk tray not a superdrive, thats bullshit, a PC has the same design of disk tray as a 360 and when building my pc I had to put the blu-ray drive in the slot while a disk was running and guess what... The disk was fine!! Its an exclusive issue with the Xbox and the Xbox alone!!

i bought the 250gb about a week ago and have had it lying down since day1.. my cod black ops stoped mid game today and said disc unreadable.. open the tray and there is a slight perfect circle scratch on it... WTF..

that's the reason why xbox sucks cause once you move your xbox 360 it will put a big ring scracth in the back of the disc and the disc will not be able to play you need to buy another game and the ps3 won't not put a big ring on the disc cause it is in the ps3 drive and it cannot scracth it while you move it
well even tho most other game systems does not have this flaw its still not good wen u turn on the system and play the game and move it around like that which in return causes the ring in ur disc.
Coat it with whatever facts you like, the 360 is still the only console that does this. Hell, you can throw around a laptop (with a very slim, condensed drive) and while the disc will stop reading, it won't scratch the thing to hell. Stop defending Microsoft's poor design.
@DolphinDivesFTW i just found out that family video will do it for you for about 2 bucks. Save your mony and don't but those 6 dollar toxic paste crap you have to put on the disk (although they do work, it take elbow grease and take like 30 min.)

@TheThoJoh thats one possibility the other what i think could cause the no scratch is the blu ray :) it has a slower rotation speed and it has a thicker plastic defense.

@FMLgaming92 the xbox isnt shit, but the quality is. you can throw a wii or a ps3 around, and it will continue playing, without a single scratch. i have a ps3, a 360 and a wii as well. Xbox is definitely a better gaming experience, especially online. but guess what fuckhead! i ENEVER moved it, YET it scratched my gears 3 disc. guess how? i plugged in a fucking usb headset. think before you bark shit.

My brother and I saved up our money and got the xbox 360 pro (60 gig) when it came out, the day we set it up we moved it while a game was in and broke it! We were depressed for a couple days until we went back to gamestop and told them what happened :). he wasn't supposed 2, but he gave us a new one because he felt sorry for, thank god for that guy! @filling24 No My ps3 slim cracked 2 of my games I never had a problem with xbox360 and I did not even move the ps3 just put in the disk and next thing the screen goes funny I take the disk out and its cracked. and the game was new. and don't tell me to shut the fuck up I did nothing wrong. your just mad because your a fan boy I have a ps2 and its better then the ps3 so what does that tell you Sony fucked up on the ps3 end of story.

People are saying its because its a disk tray not a superdrive, thats bullshit, a PC has the same design of disk tray as a 360 and when building my pc I had to put the blu-ray drive in the slot while a disk was running and guess what... The disk was fine!! Its an exclusive issue with the Xbox and the Xbox alone!!

i bought the 250gb about a week ago and have had it lying down since day1.. my cod black ops stoped mid game today and said disc unreadable.. open the tray and there is a slight perfect circle scratch on it... WTF..
the new slim also gets worryingly hot during a general gaming sesion... what happened to the durrability like that of the classic consoles? i mean for fucks sake my master system,gameboy,sega saturn stil work and they are decades old!!

that's the reason why xbox sucks cause once you move your xbox 360 it will put a big ring scracth in the back of the disc and the disc will not be able to play you need to buy another game and the ps3 won't not put a big ring on the disc cause it is in the ps3 drive and it cannot scracth it while you move it

Coat it with whatever facts you like, the 360 is still the only console that does this. Hell, you can throw around a laptop (with a very slim, condensed drive) and while the disc will stop reading, it won't scratch the thing to hell. Stop defending Microsoft's poor design.

A laptop uses a click on system where the 360 uses a drop in tray.
You CLICK a disc on a special system, the 360 does not have this nor does the ps3.
Every console has it's flaws, but I will take a 360 over a ps3 any day.
The design is proper, otherwise they would not make a new system with the same flaw if there was one to start with.

@DolphinDivesFTW i just found out that family video will do it for you for about 2 bucks. Save your mony and don't but those 6 dollar toxic paste crap you have to put on the disk (although they do work, it take elbow grease and take like 30 min.)

Blu ray <3 Or, Microsoft could've added 10 cents to its production costs and put pads on the disc drive. Simple solution? Well, it's not good for Microsoft's profits (as if you wouldn't buy a replacement disc).
