Just watch 'Amblin' and see the pure expertise in visual storytelling. Not only does it show how great he was at pacing a film, but he told the story with no dialogue, and very little ambient sound. The music really helped tell the story, as well; something that Spielberg has clearly continued to make use of in his career. It's a great film for filmmakers to look at because it is just so simple and expertly executed.
Spielberg himself had it removed. That was according to the notice on the page where the video used to be. I'm pissed that it was taken down before I got to see it. A film that will remain forever elusive.
That's why Steven Speilberg's company got its name?

The story from Joseph McBride is that Spielberg ended up having to vomit every morning before heading off to the set. Geez.
"Amblin'" is a wonderful film, though; despite Spielberg taking influence from Antonioni's "Zabriskie Point".

how was he able to make an actual film when he was only 22?
aznperds101 2 years ago
