The first Nightmare was the scariest and probably the finest of all the Nightmare on Elm Street movies. I like Nightmare 2 (because of the dark atmosphere), 3 (because it was the first of the franchise I viewed) and Freddy's Dead (because of the randomness of it - one minute is is really dark the next minute it is a comedy).
nightmare 3 is my fav film to it the frist one on the franchies that i seen on tv. Did you ever seen the tv show freddys nightmares it a ok kind of show late 80s kind of thing.
I remember seeing a couple of the Freddy's Nightmare's TV shows. They were kinda like Freddy meets Tales From the Crypt meets Twin Peaks - truly bizzare. I liked most of the tales, however, I was let down by the fact that they didn't feature Freddy beyond the introduction of the story and the conclusion of the short.
i love Freddy's dead, one of my favorites. Freedr's Dead has a 90's feel that i like. I dont know why pepole put down the humor that was devaloped in the later films of the series, for me it was the humor as well as the special effects that made these films so great. Love the review of the films though.
awesome thoughts! about part II though, I know there are some gay undertones but I think it's unintentional and definately blown way out of proportion. I doubt it was written into the screen play. An interesting note on that, the kid who played jessi was gay in real life and so was the kid who played his friend. they met filming the movie and dated for awhile after the film's release (or so i hear). maybe that's why it's so blatently obvious.
Awesome report as per usual, Uncle Bill. NOES 3 was actually on the telly last night and ironically I fell asleep before it finished. I did however live to tell the tale
very nice, i pretty much agree, especially about the scenes you talked about in the first film. part 2 I just never got into, a dude a little less gay looking would have worked with all those gay overtones. part 3 is the best next to the first film. i dont think i have to mention how much i really love jennifer rubin.
Yeah, Jennifer Rubin is amazingly hot in the film. Also, I forgot to mention the soundtrack for part three with Dokken's "Dream Warriors"...epiclassic!
I have yet to watch this video (I am kind of busy at the moment) so I don' know if you mentioned it or not, but there is a remake of Nightmare on Elm street coming out soon.
I have to agree Freddy's Revenge is so underrated and one of the best in the series. Freddie's Dead was really bad but I did find it to be funny.Dream Child is probably the only one in the series I couldn't get into.
the nightmare movies bring back alot of good memories for me,renting these when i was 14 or 15.putting them in the vcr when everyone was in bed.i happen to think part 3-dream warriors is my favorite.i lost interest after part 5 tho.
Dream warriors fucking rocked!
