I had this camera. Let me tell you i do NOT reccomend it. First of all, the sound never matched with the video, it was always off. Then, the tripod port popped off one day and I had to superglue it back on. Both sides on the camera would also always fall off very often. And then one day as if I wasn't already fustrated enough with it, it broke for good. the usb port popped out, disconecting it from the inside and outside. DONT GET THIS Camera

@gymnasticsgirl107 I do not know if it was just a bad camera I got or if all the cameras are like this IDK but I do know I have lost my trust with Vivitar camcorders. (although I do still love their regular cameras:))

@TheLuigiskates I uploaded the file directly from my camera. Normally I use Format Factory to convert though.

Hello, I purchased this camera yesterday, but when I try to open videos in sony vegas 9, it only imports video, theres no audio. If i try it with windows movie maker then there's audio, but not with vegas. Oh, I tryed opening a mp3. file in vegas and it works fine, please help me!

What video editing software did you use on this? I cannot find anything that will open the files that come out of this camera...

By any chance, does yours have he Exposure Compensation option in the menu next to White Balance? Mine doesn't like the manual shows and Vivitar is of no help.

So far, there does appear to be TWO versions of the firmware these cameras use. One which has very shakey picture, but Exposure setting, and another which has NO exposure setting but smooth picture.

Damn. Then either the other firmware doesn't actually have the stutter problem, or there's a 3rd firmware.

Mine doesn't have it, it's completely missing on mine.. Just goes Macro, Scene, WB, ISO, and that's it.

What a sham.

Dude Thank so soooo much because all of my videos have been shaky and distorted.. I will give the 720 with stabilization mode. I tried it 1080 and dang it was messed up. I have a Mac and it works great with the computer. Thanks again for posting this ;)

Yes, In my opinion it is a very good camera. I live in Florida lol.

My only complaint is it doesnt do so well in low lighting conditions, but there is a "night option" which compensates fairly well. I could upload some more footage if you want?

I dont know, I havent used iMovie. But I will say that I had to first convert the raw AVI file in order for the audio to work with Sony vegas.

The files worked fine with Windows Movie Maker however.

OMG THATS SO AWESOME OMG ITS PERFECTLY STABLE ITS LIKE OMG -gasm- OMGOMGOMGOGMOGMOGMGOMG you need 1080p. or 1million 80p. or a bonzai tree-sized palm tree. thoes flowers are fake, your hands shakey. THAT GRASS IS AMAZING o-o 1080p wins . :D
