hey man, i've got a question: im an assassing up to lvl 32, so i have impale, iv got riftstalker so i have th slightly increased damage, the healing abilites and telporting, i want a third soul for back up ranged, i was think either sab, for the explosions, or ranger for increased health, greater reach in my range shot, and the pet for pvp prehaps. what do you recomend?

Ive just got my first rogue to 20 and I used what I think is a pretty unique soul combo.

I knew bladedancers had trouble with grinding due to lack of heals.

I took Bladedancer, Assassin, Ranger. It's AMAZING

The pet from ranger takes 100% of the damage. I have 6 points into assassin for stealth and some dps skills and then the rest in bladedancer.

With a pet I can grind with zero downtime and can usually survive 3-4 mob pulls.

At level 30 I plan to switch ranger to riftstalker for synergy

atm im playing a 36 NB/Assasin/Riftstalker and i would say that nightblade has a massive burst of damage, a silence (for PvP or PvE casters), a decent Defensive CD at a low level which reduces incoming dmg by 80% and a weapon enchant which reduces healing by 50% (yet another PvP ability) but what im trying to say is use NB for training if you want a Melee Soul thats good for PvP and PvE.

I find for melee an Assassin/Nightblade/RIftstalke­r build is the best, primarily Assassin, but also getting the Riftstalker self heals and the Nightblade damage passives makes you a force to be rockoned with with a decently constant stream of self heals and and decently high damage total. I can solo elites with this build and I do, just make sure to pull multiple mobs so you can use them for healing when needed.

Should i put 9 in assa, 2 ranger and 1 nightblade and then put the majority of my points in nightblade and level with the abilities from there, or should i put majority in assa and rest in nightblade and use backstap etc.?

If I start the game as a marksman and picked riftstalker/assassin, how can I switch to Nightblade? I bought a new Role slot but it doesnt show me the option to choose Nightblade..

@Drkvamp77 You have to learn all the remaining souls by doing quests for Nightblade/Ranger/Saboteur etc. NPCs in Sanctum or the equivalent Defiant capitol. I think it's called Meridian?. The quest consists of getting a shard from closing a rift(any rift type or lvl will do) and then killing the corrupt soul.

1-30 should consist of 4 points in ranger rest in assassin. Backstab Backstab Backstab and 15% more dmg from behind. The pet will keep aggro and you don't have to worry about adds :)

@Delta1B35 when you turn 13 you can go to this place its called sanctum if your a guardian and im not sure for the defiant but anyway there are these people who give you quests to kill the soul you want and take it and in order to do this you need to close a rift then the required object you get is in the rewards then you summon the soul kill it and return to the quest giver and youve got a new soul and this can be done for all the souls and you can get all of them

i like my build assassin/nightblade/bladedance i got rly hig dps with that build and crits 600+ at lvl 22 (normal skill hits 100-150+)

and ofc i lvl up rly easy and enjoying killing mobs and players in a sec ^^

I'm going to have to disagree on your range for rogue kinda... Don't get me wrong its very good spec for pvp but i found sab being better, because basicly you can get 5 combo points on the target in 2-3 seconds then your big bomb basicaly 1 hits the enemy.

I wanted to do a ranged without the pet, as I kind of think that all the pets but for the necromancer skeletons and Beastmaster animals are pretty annoying. So I went Riftstalker/Marksman/Bladedanc­er.

Bladedancer makes a great supportive subspec for tanking, which means better survivability when you get hit as you level, and Riftstalker combined with Marksman makes for incredible mobility, making for a very effective kiting build Something else I would like to try is Rift/Marks/Sab.

What do you think about a build like Bladedancer/Assassin/Riftstalk­er for leveling? Bladedancer will be the primary tree, Assassin secondary and Riftstalker for the 30% heals. I've been doing that up till level 23 with some success, but Bladedancer is gonna scale much better after 30, and I like the play style, so I'm interested in your opinion on the viability of a spec like that for solo pve?

@AcidDKtheone You gotta get that Riftstalker heal ASAP. After that, it's pretty good. You also want to make sure you get puncture and serrated blades. You won't do much damage as nightblade/assassin, though. Nice thing about the rogue is that there are a lot of viable options. The ones I go over are just the ones I think are best.

While I don't agree with every one of your leveling specs still a great video for people who don't even have a clue of what to do. I will be leveling full nightblade it starts off slow but is by far the best PvE tree.38 Nightblade , 24 Assassin / 4 Riftstalker, Maybe a ranger with 0 points till level 30 , Nightblade has tons of abilitys to pull so you don't need 2 points into Ranger.

I respectfully disagree with your solo builds. They are well thought, but I would recommend 8 punts in Bard soul for any solo Rogue while leveling. The self-healing option is just too good to ignore, for only 8 points.

I will level up a Cleric 1st tho, so I may change my mind when it comes the time to lvl up a rogue!

@Akeche Then you need to put enough pts in to get the greater pet. It would be stupid to be able to use starting pet scaled to your level at level 50 with no pts invested as EVERYONE would then have a lvl 50 pet.
