If im not mistaken, the man that was in that car came to my school a few years back to talk about drinking and driving. Apparently, he went out driving even after his friends had taken and hidden his keys. I'm not positive about this, but I'm pretty sure.
Why are you all complaining about him being moved from the ditch to avoid the smoke?
The officers had to haul him out of a burning car, or by the end of the video he would have been dead. Any potential further damage done to him after the crash would have been done when he was being pulled out the car, so being dragged up a ditch isn't much more. Plus they had no choice, he would have been dead if they hadn't got him out.

cop 314 is right..... these officers WERE the real first responder in this situation. In the EMS or any type of emergency field we fully cooperate with law enforcement and fire/rescue.....They are heroic, no questions about it. cop314 is right though. NICE JOB FOR THE OFFICERS!
Philip Crosby is my nephew. He used to spend summers with us in Iowa. I am pleased he grew up to be a courageous man. He serves in National Guard and has been to Iraq - and going again soon. Heart stopping video for me to watch. How is the man that was injured in this car wreck, anyone know?
I rode with Central ems, the ambulance thats arrives at 6:42. And he was badly hurt, you never move a unstable person unless hes in danger. He was not in any danger. Th eofficer that said 198 is 97 then said central is arriving also. I was in the ambulance.
Have you ever been near a burning car when it finally decides to blow? Didn't think so. Sunday morning quarter backs need to stick to football. Officers have a split second to make a decision in cases like this and the rest of their lives for slugs like you or a paramedic who arrives on a secured scene after the heroics have taken place to pick their decision apart. Let's hear it for the true first responders. 121 U.S. Police Officers have given their lives in the line of duty this year.

Awesome job! They did not give up, even with the flames right by them. I can tell you that small amount of fire puts off alot of heat!
