The series keeps going strong. Can't wait to see who's lined up to direct the next one. Brad Bird did an AWESOME job on Ghost Protocol. I liked De Palma's work on the first. He set up the series perfectly. Shooting lots of close-ups, which made it translate well to home video of 1996...which in turn helped it gain even MORE popularity. Woo was good - Abrams sucked, but Brad Bird hit a home run. The series is great! Keep more coming, Tom!

Two thing I noticed about this film. One Tom Cruise almost died during the making of this film. Also I'm not sure but the guy who plays Jack is Emilio Estevez, if he is why is he not credited in the end of the film?

I wish the movies would follow the spirit of the TV series more closely. IMF is a TEAM of government sponsored con artists who trick their target into betraying themselves. Success depended on nobody knowing that they were involved. That is not what these movies are about. If Paramount and Tom Cruise wanted their own James Bond franchise that's fine, but they shouldn't have hijacked the Mission: Impossible series to do it.

@missourigreen051 I would say that only the opening 15 minutes or so of the first movie are faithful to the TV show. As soon as Tom Cruise goes rogue it bears little resemblance to the original series, and then when the villain is revealed it is the ultimate insult.
