@hoppkanin no they aren't. there's just as many good horror movies being made today as there was 30 years ago. house of the devil, the descent, 28 days later, the uninvited, paranormal witness, drag me to hell, let the right one in (and it's us remake), martyrs, trick r treat.... there's lots. i do agree that the most popular horror movies are generally shit because they're a sequel to saw, a bad remake, or they depend too much on gore.

Loved the inclusion of "Reanimator" but missed "From Beyond". The original "Friday the 13th" movie was the best. The 2nd remake of "The Thing" didn't do that well at the box office, but has since become a cult classic. What about "The Descent", ""Quarantine" (REC), "The Strangers" (THEM) or "Inside"?  The last one I can only watch about once a year. It's just too intense.

Depends what you mean, Freddy is a good classic Horror but only the Original 1st one has any real fear factor...

The Thing is still the nost disturbing movie of all those, its a true classic and the only Horror that can still make me feel a little un easy, 90% of others are just like watching Shrek to me ;)

Pretty cool list, most of those are my favorite's also. Although it pisses me off that Hollywood and other movie studios can't make good horror movies like these anymore. If they didn't use just jump scares all the time, and not use so much CGI shit, probably be alot better. I hope one day they'll try using animitronics again, it looks more real than computer images. I'll agree that the original ANOES is a classic in the genre and truly is a great horror film. Dream Warriors is awesome, funny and probably my second favourite in the franchise and New Nightmare brought some new ideas and some old school stuff that were great. love Friday the 13th and Halloween, and The Thing is one of the greatest films ever made. haven't seen Re-Animator or Suspiria... i didn't like Evil Dead 2 though, for me the original was FAR superior. it still scares me today and i'm 28!
