What interests me, is that Jude is being very vocal about their 'romance' and affection, whilst Robert shows it with his actions, little touches, smiles and glances.

Very deep bond between those two, if it doesn't cross the line of 'relationship' it must be a deep bond then. If not bromance, (which truly is quite horrible term for it, in my opinion) then it surely has to be a platonic romance.
