it is true cotto is a better fighter than hatton as he is more tuned his punches are more accurate and has a better deffence however i do think hatton would win if they fought as i think hatton is a touch more rougher. Malli well give hatton probs as i dont think hatton will be use to sum1 with good footwork which he has also handspeed but hatton does look more improved with his new trainer so its gonna be a goodun

Thanks for the comment august, Mallignaggi stood 12 rounds against Cotto, who is the all round better fighter than Hatton.
I just feel that Hatton has become too predictable, and i think that he has or is losing his punch resistance, as was proved against Laszcano, i believe Mallignaggi will be to fit, to fast for Hatton.
i also appreciate what you said about Witter, he actually agreed to fight him but never did, money does talk yes, but why then did he duck De La Hoya to fight Laszcano?

I'd agree with the person who said he can't punch. 5 KOs in 26 fights says it all. He won't have the power to trouble Hatton but he'll certainly have the speed, technique and endurance to.
Let's hope Floyd Snr has taught Ricky a few moves in the gym. I'm not expecting a Rocky III transformation, but just a bit more thought in Hatton's boxing.
Should be a good fight anyways. I'm backing Hatton to win in 10.

I dont think this fight can be predicted.
Especially not on recent performances by either fighter.
Hattons got the power and endurance (- a chest infection) and of course the new trainer, and who knows what thats gonna bring to the table.
Malignaggi ridiculously fast and hes a real boxer. And he certainly can punch to whoever said he couldnt. He rocked Cotto.
So who knows.. just depends on the night but they're both quality fighters with different strengths.

The majority (not all) of Hatton fans are football fans NOT boxing fans, they speak from the heart not the head, i've spoke to many in the pub and they all think Hatton will win, sorry boys but he won't.

There was an argument for Hatton vs Witter a while ago. I also thought he shouldve fought Witter as it wouldve been a entertaining fight.
But........... that was before Witter lost his title in a fairly crap performance against an opponent that im sure Hatton wouldve dealt with.
Im keen to see how training with Mayweather has tweaked his style too .I think Hatton will by a late stoppage. But theres something saying Malignaggi on a points decision. Should be a good fight :D

Hatton has said that if he loses to Malignaggi he will retire, he is seriously underestimating this guy who is a very good boxer.
Hatton peaked when he beat kosta tzsu but has been on the slide ever since, plus Hatton is the challenger, its proven that judges will also favour the champion, which means Hatton will really have to go for it, i think this will work for Mallignaggi who will take him on points.

If Cotto, with more power and ability, could'nt knock Mallignaggi out then Hatton has no chance.

Personally im really looking forward to this fight, Paulie has a lot of ability and has a good chin,as he proved against Cotto.
Hatton is'nt what he was, he was hurt in his last fight which was a mismatch, he comes forward in straight and is becoming very predictable.
This will either be a very tough fight for Ricky, or possibly even an upset in Favor or Paulie, im tempted to put money on Paulie on a points decision.

Does anyone know if there are any belts on the line for this fight, iv'e heard ricky on a number of occassions (on "Ricky Speaks" and other interviews) say that he is going to "bring the belt home" but i thought this was a non-title fight because neither fighter wanted to take on the mandatory challenger after the Nov.22 fight.
