  • Hey tompetty832002 how can you say better than the original? you don't really know zeppelin man, listen and then talk!

  • I came across a live session of the of this once with Joe and Doug, but cant find it now "fantastic" can any one help or up-loud it pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease

  • Wonder!!!!!! I love Joe:)

  • A truly great player, but only when he covers the classics of the past. His own music doesn't quite cut it. This is truly wonderful and when he lets rip and shreds at 5.13 it gives me the chills man.

  • @vmax4steve Errr... Sloe Gin? Happier Times? The Great Flood? The Ballad of John Henry? Song of Yesterday?

Do they not cut it? Because I class them as some of the very best songs I've ever heard. And I mean that.

  • @Ginger33333 Joe is a truly wonderful player but like Steve Vai and Joe Satriani it's not just about musicianship. Hendrix wasn't the greatest player ever, but his music was fantastic so he is remembered as such. On the back of this track I bought Joes' Sloe Gin album, played it once and have left it alone ever since as I found it pretty ordinary. Your taste or mine Ginger old bean ? I'd go for mine. Whilst on the subject of great players, check out Frank Marino and Bill Nelson & get back to me.

  • I've seen this man several years ago: He wasn't famous, he was playing in a small bar. Joe is awesome!

  • "Better than the original"..... i don't think so, for a thousands of reasons, but still a great song, love Joe and love Jimmy

  • I would gouge out my own eyes for the chance to hear this performed live...

  • That's guitarist by the way not guitar, but i love dougs vocals as well, sound so much like mr plant but cooler. Anyway tom petty, good call, great song, i agree with you.Fatnaken you're probably fatnaked and jerking off right now. IDIOT.

  • Ok i'm gonna hold me hands up, i adore jimmy page, i follow all the great guitarists and music means so much to me, but to be honest this guy bonamassa is one of the best guitar i've ever heard, i've been raving about him for a while but he's just got this unique gift of taking other peoples music and stepping it up a notch. I have never heard anyone play like him, hendirx was great, clapton, page you name it but this guy does things i've never heard before. Give him his due. He's a genius.

  • terrific

  • this shit made me cringe

    Absolute crap...fuck you all!

BTW Tom Petty sucks shit...and so does your opinion!

  • Joe is a great player in his own right, no need to compare. Trower and Page are icon guitar masters who long paid their dues. Joe is carrying on the mantle of the blues, let's hope he does not branch too much.

Listen to JImmy play this live (this is a studio take), this piece has as many as 6 overdubbed guitar parts on Zepplin's Presence, this rare YT is a live take w Plant, very cool to see this...

    youtube.com/watch?v=JylchnnO02A&feature=related

  • He is not Page. But he is still better than anyone else out there. This has to be the best cover of this song. Almost as good as the original, but not quite.

  • if bonamassa continuous like this, one day he can play like Page, but was very good this version

  • this song is just amazing doesn't matter witch god is playing it

  • Awesome!

  • Whoever said this was a cross between Page and Robin Trower was spot on !

  • Outstanding instrumental work. This piece certainly opened my eyes (and ears) to listening to more of his music. If this was done as an instrumental similar to what Soulfly did with Four Sticks where the guitar mimicked the vocals, that would be incredible...

  • 1 minute feel like a lifetime when i feeeeeeeeeeeeel this way...........

  • This cover is absolutely incredible...I wonder what Zeppelin boys would say after hearing this... Can't wait to see Joe on 11/22/11 at Kravis Center WPB, FL...

  • Joe is the uberest of the guitar gods out there at the moment, and getting better.

  • Robert and Jimmy have to like this

  • great great great

  • wow 22 idiots have watched this !!

  • wow... whos singing?

  • I consider myself a die hard Zep fan, this cover is amazing..Joe has a God given Talent..WOW!

  • I seen this guy in The Pheonix, Exeter. S Devon. England. Several years ago and he was playing to a couple of hundred off us..and we all stood agape at the guy.. and now..F--k me..what can I say..Brilliant..as the beer add says.. Probably the best in the World..and getting better

  • Nobody can beat the genius guitar stylings of Lil Wayne. Bonamassa hand up your guitar and call it a day, make way for true genius...

  • @AndyBailey931 llil' Wayne -yaayah!

  • I see that 22 Boy George fans gave this a "thumbs down".

  • LUV THIS JAM/...........

  • Perfect vocal match with Doug Henthorn. The song may be LZ but the guitar is damned sure Billy Gibbons hammer down growl and unmistakeable Robin Trower sizzles, just an amazing performance. I honestly hope JB can grow old and gracefully and become even better. He's a treasure at this phase.

  • God knows what he will be like when he reaches Robins age

  • I'd have to agree that he's taken after Gary Moore. But Joe is Joe. Probably THE dynamite in my CD arsenal. Still, it's surprising how many people never heard of this dude. This guy is an anomoly -- a talent that doesn't present itself but once in a decade ...maybe.

  • very Trower - like of him

  • He's taken a lot from the true genius: Gary Moore.

  • Why compare apple and cumquats, just enjoy the music :-)

  • It's LZ with Billy Gibbons taking the opening lead my friends. Brilliant.

  • This is my favourite Zeppelin song, covered brilliantly :')

  • joe has the gift. can you feel it?

  • The great players you mentioned aren't really the same style blues as Joe, I saw him twice. Once as a 12 yr. old opening for B.B. and Joan Osborne; and once as a co- headliner with Chris Duarte. Joe , to me, is reminiscent of Gary Moore or Robin Trower, especially when he's playing classic Rock/Blues. Joe has done a great job bringing back the classics, kind of like Clapton and Stevie Ray have done......

  • Who would dare not to admit they deeply thought about "Since I've been loving you" ?

  • @arasu90 I actually wish I could delete my stupid comment.

  • No disrespect to Joe, but can't help thinking that huge tone and ripping solos and "eveything bigger than everything else" production don't suit this song, listen to the zep version, the empty space and echoes catch the loneliness of the lyrics.

  • Awesome rendition....it just loses the soulful simplicity that Jimmy is expert at when Joe starts shredding in the same spot that Page pulls off one of the most hauntingly beautiful solos ever. I really enjoy how Pagey can say so much with so little. However- I still have to give a big thumbs up to Joe.....beautiful job capturing the overall vibe!! One of my favorite Zepp tunes....EVER!!

  • In between all that soaring guitar work, there's a boot soaked in hot BBQ sauce worn by a little old guy in a little old band from Texas. He's got footprints in the right places; Robin Trower's weighing in not too shabby I might add. Joe Bonamassa, I want to tell ya, this guy is the real deal who knows where the notes and the heart of the notes are.

  • its pretty good but no as good as the original. the begining isn't so good but it improves a lot in the chorus and the solos

  • WOW... it's like, Robin Trower and Jimmy Page had a kid... they named it Joe...

  • Good! But NOT THAT Good!

Technically great, overblown and lacks soul, and is most definitely NOT Mr Page.

OK if you've never heard the original.

    Nuff said

  • @warshipbuilder i dont know man, i definitely hear the soul!

  • @e7353 thats what happens when u give the same groupie a creampie in a 3 some.

  • @e7353 I second that. Def sounds like Trower

  • @EdVidz

Well I do go back a way... I mentioned Robin Trower just in case people thought that the sound/style was new and original. Joe does it well, no doubt about it but I hoped giving Trower a plug might bring the younger folks who perhaps haven't his stuff before to give it a try.

  • jimmy taught all of us how to play !

  • Robin Trower rip off - listen to Day of the Eagle and Bridge of Sighs.......

  • @carnubial Totally unlikely that any two blues songs sound similar.........

  • @carnubial You've got a very good memory not to mention a good ear my friend. Let's allow Joe to pick up the ball and run with material old as he is, he does it in a truly powerful and emotional way. The vocalist is just perfect and Joe comes in time and again right on the money where those notes belong.

  • @carnubial tea for one is not a trower rip off it's a zep. they ripped off there own tune, since i been loving you, called it tea for one, then joe ripped that off and did a very good job of it..

  • joe has some of the baddest guitars on the planet and thankfully he knows how to fucking tool them...please come to my small town so i can say "i told you all so"

  • Wow!!! He should do a tribute album to Zeppelin. I like Henthorns vocals, they're nice and sharp and have that Plant feel without being too much of an imitation. This has always been one of my faves by Zeppelin. Thank you Joe.

  • This is an incredible song. So much feeling. Can't wait to see Joe in Clearwater Nov. 25, 2011. Bought my tickets today.

  • @czamanap Amen brother. See you there!

  • @czamanap I was seen him in the last night in Glasgow 29 Jul 2011 an incredible!!

  • @czamanap Going to see him in Amsterdam. Can't wait either !!!

  • FYI, this isn't Joe singing in this version. It his him on guitar, which is simply amazing. One of my top ten all time solos.

  • he is great but I prefer Page's phrasing

  • Incredible.

  • I agree ... this version is much more 'passionate and exciting as the original ... the best performance of Joe ... it is hot and intense blues ... a masterpiece

  • Bonamassa is a guitar God and that's a fact!

  • it's nice to understand the lyrics better.Plant wasn't that clear of a singer in all of his legend and greatness.die-hard zep fan talkin',so shut up!

  • Thanks Joe! so good as the original + the Bonamassa "touch".

  • Sorry Joe but your no Jimmy Page matter of fact your far from it but your still good ill put you in the clapton level.

  • been listening to J B for almost 2 years now,and i'm alway's hearing others calling him the best, now along with that joe himself always commenting his idols are eric clapton,bb king, and i have noticed in joes playing he never ever covers clapton or any other of his so called idols, but is always copying the zeppelin sound and covering their tunes, joe please come forward and tell the truth

  • @ledheadbobh The truth is, you're a 50 year old who can barely form a sentence, much less attempt logical fallacy by questioning JB's talent in relation to what he pays homage to in his songs.

  • @ledheadbobh When I saw his concert he did a 20 minutes section that was basically a BB King pastiche which was fantastic and he also threw in plenty of Claptonesque licks throughout the show. So can't agree with you in anyway.

  • from the older generation, wish a joint was handy! this guy has the gift!~

  • @b424453 I’ll share, I’m about to spark one up ;)

  • The 17 dislikes must not have ears?

  • Holy crap... this is goooooooood.

  • Joe is the ( Blues ) You cant get better then him !!!!

  • he is awsome..

  • god i hope he plays this tonight

  • Joe's voice kinda different in this song... is it my imagination? I love him.

  • @Polydactyl13 it's not Joe, It's Doug Henthorn

  • @kapitein60 Thank you...That's not Joe's voice. I'm not hallucinated then :).

  • when do we have a little video from the john bonham tribute tour, huh ?

  • damn baby keep singing the blues...

  • Great =D

  • 7:25 is Robin Trower style elsewhere; I honestly think James Dewar's vocal style presents itself about 3:30 - 3:45 - Joe is incredible on this song.

  • @EdVidz Maybe the Robin Trower feel because of the phase shifting on the guitar...Tower was really big on that...Both are awesome guitar powers.

  • hah, robin trower came to mind as well,Rory Gallagher maybe,Jim Thackery

  • 'scuse me, but does anyone detect a little of Robin Trower in he notes' pauses early on?

  • 'scuse me, but does anyone detect a little of Robin Trower here?

  • Nailed !

  • nah man you gotta tickle the strings not try and break them.

  • excellent but not better the th original--no knock, just the truth

  • @1962chas Yes.

  • This is how Jimmy Page should have done it. Joe's version blows Jimmy's away.

  • @nickv41 No, wrong.

  • Excellent work to one of my favs

  • I think I would rather that Joe was doing the vocals as well -- why is someone else singing?

  • This is really good -- because it's a really good song. But to say it's better than Page, Plant, Bonham & Jones? Blasphemy. Plus, didn't Zep record their version, like, 35 years ago?

  • I;m a big Joe B. fan, refreshing to C a player like him in this day, BUT I'm a bigger LZ fan and completely disagree with anyone who thinks ANY LZ cover is better than the original. Jimmy Page once said the thing about the blues is that its so hard to do something that someone hasn't already done. And he's right, but Tea for one was an example raw blues in standard tuning., blues but different, diminished chords, punctuated notes, some time not so fancy but tasteful, very tasteful.

  • so predictable where it goes

  • What foolish crapheads would dislike this?

  • @kegmaj The same crapheads that think Kanye is a musician.

  • Damn. Blues never gets old.

  • Oh man, I have never heard this cover before...I didn't even know it existed. This is soooo good. I usually hate covers, but this one....wow.

  • Well, I'm sure Joe could have sung and played it with feeling like he has with so many other songs. Now that I listen again, Joe would have brought more intensity to the vocals. Henthorn seems laid back in his delivery, perhaps as a longing contrasting a passionate delivery.

  • You guys are forgeting that Joe is singing the fucking song too! Compare that to Trower and Page!

  • @flukeyballs269

FYI Joe is not singing this song. Doug Henthorn is singing it.

  • Saw Joe in Melbourne, FL few months ago. My gawd lawz blues live on!

  • There is definitely a Robin Trower sound here, very cool.

  • @cwodragon you nailed it!

  • actually that sound you guys are talking about came from hendrix to uli ulrich roth and then on to everybody els

  • This is very good. He reminds me of Robin Trower. Especially Bridge of Sighs. He must have studied him a lot. Some of this is direct cuts from that song. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

  • This is very good. He reminds me of Robin Trower. Especially Bridge of Sighs. He must have studied him a lot.

  • Awesome!

  • wow! Fantastic!

  • I just read Mick Wall´s book about Led Zeppelin. Since then I´ve been listening nothing but Zep... And this is really, really brilliant cover !! Well done Joe and the rest of the band. Especially drummer sounds like Bonzo himself !!

  • This guy is freaking amazing!!!! Joe forever! What a sound!

  • How can one truly define greateness BONNAMASSA

  • Jizzed in my pants!

  • Absolutely amazing! The lyrics are the truth and the guitar well words escape me!!!

  • nice cover!!! nice vocals too!!!

  • cool

  • fucking i cant take it any more ahhhhhhh!11!!1111

  • I was fortunate enough to be at the Hard Rock Show Dec. 10th to see Joe. Fantastic!!! Jason Bonham was there and played a couple with the band...... this song is incredible.

  • I seen this guy live last year and he is part of the next batch of guitar gods. In 30 years time we will be sayin that we seen him live back in 2010 , he was the best, etc cause he will only get better. Truly genius

  • @gazzaboy2531977 Joe is the same age as Derek trucks, Kenny Wayne Shepard and Jonny Lang, but I think he's the best of that great group of players. Those 4 have been around for at least 15 years, so I wouldn't really call them "the next batch", but Joe is a genius, that's a fact!

  • @chosenfool God Bless us all if we can enjoy them all. JB is going to be in Baltimore in November - and November can not get here too soon.

  • @chosenfool Cant really compare any of them to each other, especially not Derek Trucks as he's mostly a slide guitar player

  • @AndreasSku93 hey andreas you're right, not to take anything from joe, johnny, or kenny but derek is in a league of his own.

  • @AndreasSku93 hey i know you like slide, have you heard david gillmore's barn jam 166

  • @MusicSam63 Wow very nice, thanks for showing me!

  • @AndreasSku93 I remember talking to you about warren and gov't mule a while back,if you liked barn jam 166 then check out andrew winton he's bad ass on lap slide to.

  • @MusicSam63 Nice! Feel free to keep showing me great musicians :) thanks

  • @chosenfool Kenny Wayne, Johnny Lang, Derek Trucks are great guitarists. But Joe blows them all away. Listen to his slide work on "The River" at Rocktoplast.

  • @chosenfool Kenny Wayne, Johnny Lang, Derek Trucks are great guitarists. But Joe blows them all away. Listen to his slide work on "The River" at Rocktoplast. He never misses a note.

  • Very Very IMPRESSED with Joe ! Could not have picked a better song to do :-)

To all true fans of guitar playing

Check out Monti Montgomery doing Little Wing instrumental . You won`t believe

what he can make an accustic sound like . Enjoy

  • Wish there was video here...Saw this kid when he was 17 @ Newport in Columbus, Ahia. tick's now are seven times the amount they were then. Would rather hear Plant vocals and Joe's guitar work. Page is good but this kid is better from what I have seen.

  • Speechless.....true genius of a song....Absolutely LOVE this....WOW.......there are no words..........

  • Speechless.....true genius of a song....Absolutely LOVE this....WOW.......

  • Incredible.

  • the second half of the main solo from 5.02 onwards is truly amazing. Jason Bonham as usual plays beautifully. Anyone that says Joe doesn't have his own signature tone and sound is truly silly. this is an amazing track and I'm sure Jimmy would be giving it a nod.

  • Excellent phrasing. Not a lot of bullshit cliched tricks to cover up bad playing like most guitar heroes are at times guilty of. Hats off to Mr. Bonamassa. Well done. A guitarist to be reckoned with.

  • thank you Joe, thank you Led Zeppelin

  • astonishing performance!!!

  • Tea for One. written and performed by Led Zep, copied well by Joe Bonamassa

  • Freaking awesome!!!

  • dearborn_steven @yahoo.com Unbelievable cover of tea4one! Couldn't have been done better!! 5 stars, kudos to JB!!

  • unbelievable cover of tea4one! couldn't have been done better!! 5 stars, kudos to JB!!

  • Well , he really nailed this one. Totally captured the feel & essence of this great LZ tune. Awesome understated vocal as well !

  • I wish I could think and compose rock music like Jimmy page does .

  • Bonamassa is soo underrated...

  • holy smokes, nice tone...ef me...

  • The guy is a GOD. Clapton, SRV, Hendrix, and now Bonamassa,

  • Being a lead guitarist myself, all this stuff is so-o-o-o great !!!!

  • LET ME LAY IT DOWN NOW. JB is NOT a clone. Cant anyone realise that his sound, intepretation, tone and soo work is definable as JB? after all, all the greatest blues and rock artists stole. Jimmy Page was a huge thief! who cares? the only thing JB does wrong is humbly dedicates everything to those he is stealing from rathet then passit off as his own. Extremely humble guy. He is a true modern guitar hero. And I play drums. Wish I was in his band but Bonzo junior and Anton have it covered.

  • I like this better than the Zep version. Of course, it's all a matter of taste. But I've never heard JB take another's song and make it worse. If he does not make it better, he always at least makes a fantastic alternative.

  • a good song is not played yet, fortunately, wrong

  • fuckin´ epic

  • Well people , have just listened to joe`s T F O and many roads a few times accompanied by some nice strong English Ales ,and wow ,love S R V , and all the guys `n`gals that play the Blues I like , GREAT ! Merry xmas and a real peacefull loving new year to one and all .

  • wow. As a lifelong page fan I'm amazed. So sweet!

    Beautiful!

  • How is he getting that sound on his guitar. What guitar? What amp?

  • @RubySnow101 I can't tell you that, but what I do know is that, put enough feel and practice, and it'll sound good even on a shitty guitar, just sayin' :)

  • @RubySnow101 les paul through a marshall 100watt stack, some kind of univibe pedal, a little delay, a little reverb.

  • Good version, but the original beats it! Page is a guitar wizard and plant, bonham, jones are each masters of their craft. We have been lucky to have been blessed by their music. How I wish I could have been around at the time, on their tours.

Where is the red snapper now???

  • who is a singer?

    v good

  • @defakty doug henthorn

  • Liking one version more than other is irrelevant to me. The fact this song speaks volumes does !

  • With all do respect for the huge monsters of hard rock that were Zeppelin..i think i like this version way more.

  • 14 people that no nothing of good solid rock

  • He's thrown a litle Robin Trower in there too.
