  • you are so big hehe .. lara.

i would like to see someone in your size being trained by you

    how tall are you?

  • looks very smooth , i guess it could be used as a punch

this is what i wanted to learn with my message

  • @TheRogueMonk yes it can be used for a punch. Even a short jab.

  • @ironfisteagleclaw maybbe you have it already i havent looked a taall your vids but it would be nice to see all kinds of punches or most common punches and your aikido

  • @TheRogueMonk Yeah you will find a video that talks about jabs, hooks and the like. I will be filming more soon.

  • @ironfisteagleclaw i will just write this in advanced if i didnt find it

    what is the video called

  • @TheRogueMonk It is called "Aikido For Jabs and hook punches By Robert Lara Sensei "

  • @TheRogueMonk Just look the list of my videos and you will see some students that are almost as tall as I am. I am 6ft 41/2in tall.

  • looks like uke would have got cut on the neck thankfully its a fake tanto and he has good ukemi.awsome video

  • @kijokentaijitsu You are the first to catch that cut. Thanks for your comment. Peace!

  • @ironfisteagleclaw if uke falls in a fashion and the tore does hold it stable and gentle it will not cause injury ..

but i agree its stupid to do aikido moves with force , not because i see it here but i mean generally it can be dangerous.

  • Looks like Steven Seagal.

  • No. It is just me.

  • is akido a style of karate or a totally diffent thing?

  • Aikido is an art of it's own. Please Google Aikido to learn more. Peace!

  • no problem

  • AWESOME

  • Thanks!

  • Reminds me of what Snake does on the MGS3 intro screen in slow-mo lol.

  • I love Kotegaeshi!

  • Me too!! Peace!

  • Very nice. Thanks for posting

  • a very good tecnique. in our dojo, we also use this against 'bottle' and club attacks. using live training with plastic bottles and soft bats.

  • This is my tenth vision: very charismatic, very spectacular and useful without be bloody. Five stars.

  • Thank you my friend. Good training to you!

  • Very nice instruction. I've always wondered how that throw worked... that's the best angle I've seen so far. Can't wait to start Aiki again next month.

  • I am happy that is helped you to understand that Throw. My best to you.

  • The slow motion of the outside wrist turn throw (may be called by a different name in Aikido?) is very helpful. This technique has always eluded me a bit. Most of my throws can be very gentle (nearly painless for the uke) but not this one. I always feel like I'm just about ripping their arm off so I must not be flowing properly. Do you have any words of wisdom?

  • It sounds like You may be turning out the wrist to far. In Aikido we follow the natural folds of the joints. So I extend their arm out and apply the lock with their hand going back in toward their elbow. If you do the wrist turn out to much to the side it will hurt like hell or even break their wrist.

That was a short as I could make it. We can only add 500 letters to each comment. I will be making more videos fri to breakdown locks and throws. I will post them soon. Peace brother!

  • Thank you very much! I'll be working that concept out with a close friend and training partner tonight.

  • Cool. Let me know if it helped any. Good training to you both!

  • That was it. Thank you very much for the suggestion.

  • upon further reflection: you are not folding the wrist until much later in the throw than I usually do. Will be practicing this as well.

  • This is just amazing....

    Thank you for sharing it.

  • Thanks dfor your kind comment. Have a great day my friend. Peace!

  • way cool ... i don't know enough to comment .. so .. just

    WAY COOL .. haha

thanks Sensei Robert .. its great to have you as a friend ..

Happy Holidays and many wishes of many more :) ..

    your friend

    jeff

  • Thank you Jeff:) Happy Holidays to you and your family as well. Peace to ya bro!

  • I wish I could do half of the things you do cuz. best wishes to you in your lifes path.

  • Thank you for your Comment Linda:) God bless you and your family. Show this one to Robert! lol. Is he on YouTube?

  • No not yet but should be soon if I keep on him.

  • Hey, excellent video my friend :D I really only know how to do this with a Krav Maga technique, I like aikido better I'd say :D 5 star

  • Hey bro! Thanks for youe comment. Hope your doing good. Peace.

  • Its amazing, no matter how much I watch this, I could NEVER pull that off like u... wow!! :D 5stars...

  • HEHE thanks Vomit:) I got to watch your new video. I have not had a chance yet. Well I do now! so here I go. LOL. Take care my friend. Peace!

  • I love this pin from Kotegaeshi. So often Uke practically jumps into it all by themselves if you've got the pressure right. I liked the added touch of stripping the knife off him before the pin was completed and using it to apply pressure to the forearm and additional threat to keep him down. I usually wait until I've got the pin really solid to strip away a knife. Thanks for posting.

  • Thank you very much aikidojones. I value your input my friend. My best to you and your Dojo. Peace!

  • Very nice koteogoshi (my spelling is most likely wrong),Sensei Robert! I like the circular motion that Aikido uses to place Uke in a position of poor balance...he's too busy trying to get his feet under him that he can't fight the wrist twist & throw! Thanks...

  • Thanks sto9joe for youe comment bro. Peace!

  • Brilliantly executed. Well done, Peace!

  • Thank you. Peace to you as well my friend.

  • You make it look so effortless and fluid... great stuff! Thanks for posting

  • Thanks Man. I am glad you liked it!
