  • Can't believe I never saw this vid,nice idea.

  • was this before the invention of that's what she said?

  • sweet good idea--- if you put a washer on the knot side of the spool the tape might not shift

  • Thank you for sharing. I wasn't keen on wrapping it around other gear. Even the smallest roll I could find was far too bulky. This is perfect. I'll b using it down here in Australia.

  • wicked channel my friend, god bless

  • You could put something threw the roll of duct tape so you don't have to keep pulling it

  • Very very nice!

  • I'm so going to make a necklace charm like this. :)

    Good idea man.

  • At first I thought: ten and a half fucking minutes for a video about re-rolling duct tape?! WTF?! I've done it before, and I don't need no 10 minute-video telling me how to do it.... After seeing the video I'm thinking: That's a really great video man! Happy I've seen it! :-) Great stuff indeed!

  • Brilliant!

  • Awsome vid this is coming along in my edc

  • You sir, are a genius.

  • Great video and great idea thanks for sharing man. Keep up the good job.

  • fantastic idea, i didn't even think about that. thanks

  • Great video. You have obviously worked out a lot of the details on this that will save others from having to learn from their own mistakes. Thanks a lot!

  • Excellent idea! KISS principle. wtr7

  • Fantastic idea! Thanks a lot.

  • I just remove the cardboard tube and press the exposed inside tape together to make it stuck together from the inside, works great for electrical tape and once the cardboard tube is removed from duct tape, it can be folded when needed.

But might try re rolling like that if I need to.

  • good idea but ya electircal tape is small enuf alrdy you dont have to worrie i use ducktape and electric tape all the time i keep like 2-3rolls around the house and when i go take a few cause its the best just like 550 cord always have it on me

  • you are officially my hero...

  • this is genius. nice work!

  • awesome vid, i gotta try it

  • Great Vid! Thanks, I just sub'ed

  • great idea reaally usefull... i;'m doing all my tape like that from now on

  • Very awesome!

  • Nice job, wanted to re-roll some and was thinking about what to roll it on, good idea of the pen.

  • Great idea, thanks for sharing!

  • Thank you so much for this video. I love the idea of using the paracord and pen. I didn't have a drill so I spun it by hand. Still works the same though. I now have two of them hanging from my pack. Thanks again!

  • this is such a great idea. Just made 2 of them, putting one on my key chain.

  • Brilliant!

  • you can also put a washer at the end and secure it in place and thenroll a bigger spool

  • Now that is one bloody good idea! Thanks dude!

  • Useful

  • cool

  • would ttake me too long ^^

  • Just as you do I also wrap a piece of it self so that I can grab on something. An extra thing to find that piece(in dark etc) is to draw an arrow to were the piece is.

  • GREAT INFO Thanks

  • coool man thx for this tip! :)

  • great vid man, really good stuff that i can use in field

  • Well done!

  • dont forget to burn the tips on the 550

  • nice tip, thanx! thumb up

  • very nice thanks!

  • I took electrical tape and hand spun it onto a toothpick, I got two rolls of about ten feet of electrical tape and its less than a quarter inch in diameter. and theres about an inch worth of toothpick to hold onto as you unspool it.

  • i take the tape and wrap one or two wraps with the sticky side out and tare it

then wrap it the rright way on top of that

and when you are done wrapping it slides right off the pen

  • Dude, that is awesome! Thank you!

  • awesome idea. i re rolled duct tape on a pencil by hand when i could have done it this way. i have 2 pins, 1 paper clip, ~10 feet fishing line, ~10 feet of string, ~5 feet duct tape, a sewing needle, ~2 feet electrical tape wrapped around a pencil as my backpacking emergency kit/repair kit.

  • Great idea!

I am going to make a few of these for my trauma kits and bug out bags..

  • Great great great...

I usually use the hotel-key card method, or with credit cards, but i'll give this method a try !

  • thats awesome, you should try gorilla tape :D

  • That right there is Grade-A, S-Rank awesome.

  • Thanks for the idea, and the great demo!

  • Excellent idea!!! Thanks for sharing!!

  • I like to roll it around a credit card. Packs flat.

  • @XCritonX did something similar. Cut out a piece from an unused cardboard , made a hole, wrapped tape around flat as pancake, used hole for lashing through 550 cord. It hangs on a biner now. But this is the way to make things easier, Nice video.

  • I love it

  • pretty cool idea with the empty pen case. I have been attaching straight to coat hanger wire, and put loop on end to hang frm 550, but like the "toilet paper" effect when dispensing. I will try it. thanks

just curious... off topic, are you a big guy?. buddy of mine is a big dude , and i can hear him breathing all the time.

  • Excellent :))

  • Thanks much for thr idea. Was how I am going to reroll my tape efectively. Your demo just should me the best way. Thanks again for sharing!!

  • NICE

  • Excellent idea, and well presented. Thanks!

  • 5 stars for you.

  • thanks, glad you liked it

  • It takes up less room, but it sure is not as convenient as a roll to give you a good, solid grip..

  • worth it for the space it takes up in the pack

Give it a try, it's just as easy to deploy as a roll IMO

  • @GearBuyersGuide Wouldn't the tighter roll make it harder to pull of the roll. If you pull duct tape off of a roll it comes off pretty easily. Just curious, great idea though. That would be great for camping and long canoe trips.. can't have too much duct tape.

  • @SilenceSlayer224

it is a smaller roll, no wrapped any more tightly.. I have never had any issue un-winding (using) any of the spools I have re-rolled

  • Sometimes you don't have the luxury of a good, solid grip.

  • ahhh y a donde la llevas ....

  • Very cool.

  • Great quality video, and great idea. Thanks for sharing.

  • Great Job!

  • very interesting. you could probably bang together a jig out of wood to support the tube and reduce the torque on the drill.

  • good idea

  • @kumquatsta i was thinking the same thing.

  • What an idea! Tks....

  • good idea for medical tape also. cool idea bro

  • I'm impressed!

  • Nice idea! Man, I like your channel Dude, you have some useful info.

  • thanks

  • Ya that is how adventure medical does it too.

  • Genius idea...so simple why didnt I think of that?

  • thats what I thought too after I did it the first time

  • Wow, that's actually a pretty cool idea.

  • Nice! Great Video!

  • very good, i must try this

  • Cool!

  • Great idea! I'll have to try that myself 5/5

  • seems really useful.

    But i don't have a drill :L

  • Doh.. I guess you could do it by hand

  • a lot harder.
