ts not air that crushes it when the water boils it fills the can with water vapour/steam pushing any Air out of the can and when you put the can upside down and in the water the steam cools dropping too the bottom of the can leaving nothing in the can so it collapses on itself

i have done this experiment and i was freaked out by what happened. i jumped when the can exploded and almost knocked over the water bowl. i didn't have a bunser burner though. i was at home and all i had was my stove. i also dropped the C-Clamp that i was using to hold the can so i wouldn't get burned. it was fun though.
