Changing habits is always hard, be it getting into a good habit or breaking a bad habit. And physical addictions make the bad ones that much harder to break.
You just gotta find enough motivation to take those first few steps. The more you take. The easier it gets. But those first few......
Which is one reason I am personally just glad I am allergic to tobacco. It prevented me from ever getting myself into that particular mess at least.

Congratulations! The best motivation is to do something because you get so much joy from. The trick is how to find that place. Like you said, that route is different for everybody. You should be proud of yourself, those are some major achievements :)

I'm glad that you did go out and celebrate. And don't kick yourself in the ass over the smoking and the weight. It will happen when it happens.
